Well we are out of Afghanistan but it is still dominating the news. Our forests are burning. Our children are getting sick and some are dying. We just had one of the strongest hurricanes ever to strike the coast of Louisiana. Voter suppression is running rampant throughout multiple states and the Supreme Court looks like it is turning a blind eye to our democracy.  What does our President have to give a speech on? Afghanistan! Why?, because that is what is consuming the news and public opinion. Yes, is was a 20 year war we should have gotten out of a long time ago but in reality it wasn’t really a war for quite some time. It was more of a lesson on how not to do nation building. We have a lot of things that are going on that will affect the lives of my great grandchildren and Afghanistan is not one of them.

Climate change is not only affecting the United States but also the world. I Googled the worst forest fires in history and according to Earth.org most have happened in the last few years. The Dixie fire from this year is one of the worst. As I am writing this evacuations are happening around the Lake Tahoe area because of the fires. I was working out at the Rec. Center and they had on multiple stations on. CNN was on the Hurricane damage. MSNBC was on the fires and CBS were on the fires. Fox News you guessed it, Afghanistan. The News Station that wants to be the so called America’s News Station was talking about what was no longer affecting America. Climate change is real and in need to real solutions or future generation may not be here. The end of day prophecy has always been a self fulfilling prophecy. The earth will not end but man may just go the way of the dinosaurs.

Louisiana has just been hit by what may be the most powerful storm to ever hit the state. There could be places without basics like power for months. The recovery after a storm like this does not just happen overnight.  Hurricane Michael stuck the panhandle and just leveled the city of Mexico Beach. I drove through Mexico Beach over a month after it happened. By the looks of the destruction that I saw you would have thought that it had just happened. I was on Captiva a year after Hurricane Charlie hit and South Seas Plantation was still closed. I actually think that it took another three or four years for South Seas to reopen. That is what the recovery will be like for some of the people in Louisiana. As we get more of these storms that are becoming stronger and stronger this will become a more common story. You want smaller government? Well, you are not going to get it if you have to keep on depending on the Federal Government to come in and save you and help you rebuild. Climate change is real and the people that have been denying it for years are the ones trying to steal our democracy.

Also, as I write the web is just exploding with the fact that the Supreme Court would not review the Texas Abortion law. The branch of the government that is responsible for ensuring our freedom and interpreting the Constitution would not even listen to the arguments about Texas suppressing women’s rights. The press is all over the Biden administration because women in Afghanistan may be losing some of their rights when right here at home it is happening. We have Republican Politicians crying freedom and then taking freedom away from women. We have Republican Politicians saying the wearing a mask or getting a vaccine is personal choice and then deny women the choice over their own bodies. The world watches our hypocrisy and wonders why they ever followed us in the first place. We really are not a country that believes in freedom. If I was a billionaire I would put up a billboard right in Washington DC asking the Supreme Court what they have against freedom.

We have real problems that need real solutions and we need to elect people that want to tackle those problems. I do not know of a single Republican in the entire state of Florida that wants tackle them. They would rather treat their state like a toilet and let children get sick and die. As long as there is so much dark money flowing into the pockets of these politicians they will never be willing to do anything that will jeopardize that money. Bribery works.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
