What is a Patriot? Better yet what does it take to be a Patriot? When I look up the definition of a Patriot here is what I get, “a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors”.   I will tell you, looking at the definition doesn’t really help me determine what it takes to be a Patriot. I have known a few Vietnam Veterans. I think those guys I knew that served in that war were Patriots, they answered their countries call. Most did not volunteer, most were drafted but that doesn’t mean their sacrifice means less. I have friends that lost family members in Vietnam. I have seen the look in a mother’s eye as she talked about her lost child. Part of being a Patriot and Patriotism in general is the sacrifice that is made for one’s country. Being a Patriot is not about being famous. Audi Murphy, the most decorated soldier during World War II was a Patriot before he was a famous movie star. John F Kennedy who served in the Navy in Wor
I keep hearing how Biden is ruining America. I keep hearing that but I never heard what he is doing to ruin America. To say such a bold statement as that and not back it up with facts and figures just makes that statement sounds like a political lie. I was not the biggest Biden fan when he started to run for office. I was one of the old guys that thought that we needed younger blood and younger ideas. I was one of those who thought my generation had its time and it was now time to turn things over to the next generation. I am still of that mind but I am also of the mind that we must do everything necessary to preserve our Democracy for the future generation of this country. I really think that Biden has shared that same goal. He is working to save our democracy. I have four grandchildren and may actually live long enough to see great-grandchildren. The future is theirs, I have had my time. I am pretty sure that the people that are saying that Biden is ruining America are not the 80
“Law and Order”! That is one of the most over used phrases in the English language. Another very over used phrase is “no one is above the law”. This election year we are hearing those phrases almost every day. I agree with both phrases yet some of the people who are using them are using them for votes and not because they believe in them. Donald Trump attended the wake of a New York Police officer gunned down in the line of duty and called for “law and order” trying to make a statement that he would be tougher on crime than President Biden. He stated “We have to get back to law and order. We have to do things differently. This is not working. This has happening too often. We have got to toughen up”.   Jonathan Diller was fatally shot during a traffic stop while approaching an illegally parked car in Queens. Crimes like these are usually not the fault of any Executive Administration either Republican or Democrat. No President has the jurisdiction over the local law enforcement. I
