I Could Be Wrong.

  Tuckers out. Just like everyone else I have to comment about Tucker Carlson’s exit from Fox News or as some people call it Fox Entertainment. Tucker Carlson was not Journalist and to say he was would be an insult to all the hard working Journalists out there. There is a huge difference in making the news than reporting the news. In my opinion, he wanted to be the news not just report it. He wanted to be bigger than the stories that he was supposed to be reporting. I read a headline that Bill O’Reilly says that the GOP is in trouble now that Tucker Carlson is gone at Fox News. To me that is where the problem lies. How could the firing of one, so called Journalist, mean that an entire political party is in trouble. When Walter Cronkite retired I never heard that any political party was in trouble. When Peter Jennings signed off for the last time I never heard anyone say that any one political party would suffer. These were great Journalist, something that Tucker Carlson was/is not. A g

  Prayer in schools. Whose prayer? We have teachers that are of many denominations of religion does the teacher pick the prayer? If you are bringing God back into our schools whose god? What about those parents that don’t believe and are not raising their children to be believers. This group is the fastest growing religious group in America. There are just some things that should be left out of schools and Religion is one of them. In Texas, the Senate has passed a bill to put the Ten Commandments in every classroom. I mean, didn’t the Supreme Court rule on that one already? Is this just another circumstance where a group wants to bring this issue up to Chief Justice Roberts’ Court so they can just overturn the judgments of the Court Justices that came before them? They did that for guns. They did that for abortion. The Supreme Court, in my opinion, has weakened our Constitution   and in doing so has weakened our country.   Fox News lies! Fox News just paid over three quarters of a billion dollars because it lied to the American people and that lie damaged a voting machine company. That was the settlement between Fox News and Dominion. That sounds like a huge chunk of change but let’s look at what really happened here. Fox News doesn’t have to issue anything publicly like an acknowledgement that it lied to the American people. Fox News doesn’t have to admit publicly that it chose money and profits over the truth. What this really does is make it so Fox News still has a license to lie to the American Public and the World. That’s right! Fox News paid over three quarters of a billion dollars so it can continue to lie to the American people.   Bullying and guns. That is one scary combination. That is what I fear for Florida. Our Governor is definitely a bully. I don’t think he cares one bit that he could hurt the entire State of Florida. Disney World makes up a whopping 20 percent of the Florida Economy, I think. That is a huge chunk of change they bring to this state, whereas, most states would love to have them. I bet even Texas. I always ask myself the question “why is he messing with a company that is so good for Florida?” The only answer I can figure out is that he wants to show the rest of the nation what a tough guy he is.   Women power! I keep reading in the news about the power of the Women’s vote and how Republicans are going to regret that they are messing with women’s freedoms. Women make up half of the voters in this country. If they truly were united they would be a force to be reckoned with but they are not. In Florida last year DeSantis signed one of the most restrictive Abortions laws in the nation. This was before he faced reelection. Even though abortion rights were very much part of the 2022 election DeSantis clearly had the White women vote in very high percentages for him.   Fifty-six percent of the total women voters, over the age of 65, voted for DeSantis where just 43 percent voted for Crist. In the age group 18 to 29 it was tied between DeSantis and Crist 47 percent each. A total of 53 percent of Women voted for DeSantis even though he blatantly is taking away women’s right.   Because of the high number, the women’s vote   just emboldened a man like DeSantis.   Draining the swamp! I have written before that we will never be able to drain the swamp that is Washington DC, until we get all the money out of Washington. Too many people go to Washington to make money and not enough go there to actually serve our nation, in my opinion. Money now runs our government too often. The National Rifle Association spends millions to influence legislation on guns and the 2 nd Amendment. I would be very naive to think that all that money is coming from the gun owners in this country or even just the members of the NRA. Some of this money has been documented comes from Russia. If you look at the money that Saudi Arabia throws around Washington it is mind boggling. You don’t throw that type of money around without expecting a return for your investment. Just the money they spent in Trump Tower alone is mind boggling.   Guns, and more guns. Every day, in just about every newspaper in America we can read about a shooting nearby. There is no part of the Country that is immune from gun violence. In 2020 there were over 19,000 homicides and over 24,000 suicides by guns. I have heard many times “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people”. Well, I would like to add that all cases it is people with guns that kill people and to say otherwise is just ignoring the facts. A gun does not pull its own trigger; a person has to pull that trigger. As of 2020, the top ten gun ownership states, per capita, five were also in the top ten gun deaths per capita. I don’t know about you but I think that might say that more guns lead to more gun deaths. Funny but you hear about Chicago and Detroit being so violent but neither Illinois nor Michigan are in the top ten in either category. They expelled from the legislature two black State Representative Justin Jones and Justin Pearson for their disruptive behavior as they supported student’s protests. A White female Representative was also part of the protest but she was not expelled.   Easter weekend! This is supposed to be one of the holiest times of the year for the Christian world. It is a weekend that we are supposed to reflect on a man that sacrificed everything so our sins could be forgiven. This religious holiday has changed more than any other during my lifetime. When I was a young boy I always used to get new clothes and shoes for Easter. The shoes were always bought a little big because I was still growing and my parents wanted them to last a while. Good Friday, every business would close between noon and three so everyone could go to church. Easter Sunday was a day that pretty much every business was shut down. It was a day we all put on our Sunday best that our parents just bought along with a clip-on tie and those oversized shoes. It was a day for Church, Easter Dinner and Family.   Trump has flown to New York. Marjorie Taylor Greene has flown to New York. One is for his arraignment of as many as 34 counts brought against him by the State of New York. The other is there to exercise her Constitutional Right to protest, but MGT was the circus. One knows what New York is like. The other really doesn’t. Trump will try and make a circus out of it. This being New York where everyday can be a kind of circus he will have, what I think, is a little bit of a problem. I don’t think that Marjorie Taylor Greene has a clue. This is a person that believes if a person blows a whistle while she is talking they are committing assault. That is exactly what she said happened in March during her jail visits. A man blowing a whistle “assaulted her” with the noise. She calls the police. She thinks that the Jan. 6 th defendants are being persecuted for attacking the Capitol but she is says a whistle blown at her, constitutes assault. She may be a star on 60 minutes but that won’t fly

  Why does a billionaire ask poor people for money for his criminal defense? A better question to ask is why are poor people so willing to pay a billionaire their hard earned cash for the billionaire’s criminal defense? Many of the people who are sending him money are people that don’t have a “pot to piss in” for some reason think that Trump has and will make their lives better. Most of them, he would not even let in the back door let alone the front door of his resort home. Trump is a billionaire, why does he not spend his own money on his defense? He was the one that had the affair with a porn star not his supporters. He was the one that paid hush money out of campaign funds. I read a report that he has raised four more million dollars. Maybe that is why he is a billionaire because, what he does is spend your money instead of his own. Trump may just be the ultimate salesman.
