I Could Be Wrong.

  Ok that debate is over. Trump knew and helped plan January 6 th .   He officially wanted to end our Constitutional Government that he had sworn to defend and protect. He wanted harm to come to the Vice President of the United States. He was ok with “Hang Mike Pence”. Violence is now officially part of the Republican Parties Platform. After all the support for the “Big Lie” the entire Republican Party is responsible for where we are at today. In the aftermath of January 6 th the few Republicans that did stand up to the Trump and the “Big Lie” were basically drummed out of the party. To be a good Republican you had to support the “Big Lie”. If not you were called a RINO “Republican In Name Only”. Even after all that has come out about the “Big Lie” people running in Republican Primaries are fighting over being endorsed by Trump.   The Bill of Rights, what in the hell are they? I get so confused are times. I thought they were there for our guaranteed freedom. Now freedom means something to different to many people. The words that used to define freedom in America used to be life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those words in their own right will mean something different to many people. I am amazed today how our rights are being diminished by people that say, our rights are being diminished. I was born in the early 50s so I have seen a lot of things change over the last 60 plus years. Growing up I never saw an assault rifle and knew no one that even wanted one. We always had a gun in the house but the thought of having a gun that looks like an M16 was just unthinkable. The separation of church and state was a big deal. I watched the 6/23 hearings on the insurrection and was just amazed at the depths that some in the Trump administration and his supporters were willing to sink to in their efforts to destroy are democracy. There is no better way to say what they were trying to do to stay in power and in some cases like Jeffery Clark trying to gain more power for himself by promoting a lie. The lying that is going on now just is actually increasing. Lying to cover for the lie that covered for the lie and the lying can go on forever. He keeps changing his story to the point where he is now throwing Rep. Kelly from Pennsylvania under the bus to cover his own butt.   I am going to start this out with a revisit of the Jack Del Rio, Jr. situation. Jack Del Rio Sr. Jack’s father was a youth football coach and I will add that he is very well respected. He didn’t care what color was any of his players and from what I have read many of the kids that played with Jack Jr. didn’t understand where Jack’s recent comments were coming from. It seemed every player enjoyed playing for Jack. Jr. So, where did this come from? How could such a man not know what he was saying was racist? He issued an apology for saying that the attack on our Democracy was just a dust up but stood by his words about community violence. I do not know a single person that justifies the violence during any protests. Some of the violence was done by angry blacks that were angry against a system that targets them.   Most of us when we talk about our country and its form of government we refer to it as a democracy. A few times but not many there will be someone that says that we are not a Democracy we are a Republic. This is from the English Dictionary. Republic: “A state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representative” Democracy: “A system of government by the whole population or all eligible members of a State, typically through elected representatives”. I don’t think that it is a sin to call us a Democracy if you want. They correct you when you say that and say you are wrong to try and make you look stupid and they are so much smarter than you. Most of the time they claim they are Conservatives but what I really think they are, people that do not really believe in the vision that is supposed to be America.   Two men took the same oath. That oath was to protect and defend our Constitution. On January 6 th 2021 one man twisted those words and the other lived those words. Donald Trump on that day said that we had to stand up and fight to defend our Constitution. I don’t know what part of the Constitution he was talking about but it sure sounded good to his supporters. He whipped the mob into frenzy and then they attack the Capitol with some screaming that they had to defend the Constitution. I really don’t know what Constitution they were talking about because what Trump wanted them to do was destroy the Constitution of the United States. The other man was Vice President Mike Pence. He had a job according to the Constitution to certify the election that would make Joe Biden our next President. He had received tremendous pressure from President Trump to not do his Constitutional duty and not certify the election.   Sports and politics have always been like strange bedfellows but they have always been bedfellows. Today more than any time in our history that statement is true. Whether it is football or baseball or just about any other sport nationalism and politics has always been a part of our sport’s scene. Politicians want to be seen with sport stars, politicians want to throw out the first pitch. They want to be seen in that skybox at some stadium watching what they say is their favorite team. Countries   do that same thing. Just look at the Olympics. What is the most important number at the Olympics? Why medal count. Every day during the Olympics it is the medal count that is posted there for everyone to see. The athletes themselves are secondary that is why there is so much cheating by countries like Russia.   On Twitter I made a statement that on January 6 th a group of people tried to overthrow a branch of our Government.   I got a reply countering my original comment,   that I really couldn’t believe a group tried to overthrow a branch of our Government. I commented backed that’s “ok, let’s say a group of terrorist tried to overthrow a branch of our Government.” Then, the comment that I got back was that he had wished that they had succeeded. There really are people within America that hate America. There really are people that want to see our Democratic Republic to fail. That is what I find so disturbing. What do they want to replace our Republic with? What about our Constitution? Are they going to write another one? Do they think it will really make us stronger?   I will guarantee you it will not.   The Defensive Coordinator of the Washington Commanders gave an interview calling the January 6 th insurrection a “dust up”. He compared them as not as serious as the Black Lives Matter protests where buildings were burned and what he said lively hoods were destroyed. Yes, the violence at the Black Lives Matter protests was not a good thing and most everyone wished it would have not happened. Violence just gets more violence. To compare the two is like comparing the moon to the sun. The differences are as great as night and day. One is trying to promote change but I will admit the violence that happened in about 3 percent of the protests was not in my opinion promoting change. It is just making change harder.   This will be my Thursday June 9 th posting and June 9 th will be the first day of the open Congressional Hearings of the January 6 th insurrection. Many people have called that day many things. There has been some outright lying when it came to January 6 th . Representative Andrew Clyde said after viewing footage it looked like just a bunch of tourist. Representative Clyde can be viewed helping to build a barricade to keep those so called tourists out of the House Chamber. The last time we had tourists like that in the Capitol was the British during the War of 1812.  These so called tourists were more like a lynch mob storming the jail. Representative Clyde called the insurrection a bald face lie. I am sorry but the bald face lie in my opinion came out of Representative Clyde’s mouth. The Chamber was not breached he claimed but yet a person died trying to breach the Chamber.   Citizens United. When I hear those words all I can think about is corruption. Corruption of our political campaigns, corruption of our government and corruption of our Supreme Court. It is said that money is the root of all evil and Citizens United is all about the money in political campaigns and in our election process. Now there is an actual organization call Citizens United in 2010 took on the FEC and won striking down as unconstitutional a federal law prohibiting corporation and unions from making expenditures to federal elections. Their current President is David Bossie who in 2016 took a leave to become Donald Trump’s assistant campaign manager. You look at their mission statement and it sounds real good. They state that their Mission is to restore the United States government to “citizens control, through a combination of education, advocacy, and grass-roots organizations” seeking   to “reassert the traditional American values of limited government, freedom of enterprise, str

  I get a lot of interesting replies to my postings on Twitter when I am using it to push out my blog. On the posting on Socialism, a topic that shouldn’t be “scary”, a women who claimed to be an author said I was dead wrong, just ask the people in Cuba, Venezuela, and Yugoslavia. I found that a very interesting statement. I wonder if this author even knew that Yugoslavia broke up 30 years ago. I love comments that make me think but this was not one of them. In my posting I was trying to say that these “scary” social programs like healthcare were not going to turn us into communists and here this lady gives me this list of all the bad things that have happened in Venezuela not the good things that have happened in the Social Democratic countries like Sweden, Norway or Great Britain. I appreciate that the fact that Communism is bad. Venezuela has suppressed the vote. That is never a good thing for a nation.   I have written a few times about guns and the 2 nd Amendment. I feel if you ask 10 people what the 2 nd Amendment means to them you will get 10 different answers. Protect property and family is a popular one though words family or property are not in the Amendment. Some will tell you it was put there to put down a slave revolt and that is probably true. Another popular one is rebelling against a tyrannical government. Many like me feel that it is very antiquated and needs to be rethought if it still belongs in the Constitution at all. One person stated that when the government is loading me into a boxcar I should be thankful that there are people with guns to stop them.
