I Could Be Wrong.

 Socialism. Why is the thought of Socialism so scary to some people? Oh I know. Some people think the Socialism is Communism. Why? Is it because they know that people won’t bother to know the difference between the two? Can Socialism be Communism? I suppose, but not how Socialism is applied today. All of us living in a commune sharing the fruits of our labor equally is not going to happen. That is what Communism or Marxism was supposed to be but you know what happens when some people get power. They just want more. Communism is just another version of Fascism, just that more people get suppressed. How will Universal Healthcare lead us to Communism?  Beats the hell out of me but it sure seems to scare people and that leads to votes. On one of my posting, on one of the social platforms I belong to a person stated with all the confidence of the world that zero socialist nations have been successful.   I am posting this for Memorial Weekend or can we say just another golf weekend for a former president. Who knows, maybe he will do something this year to honor those people that he called suckers and losers. Biden will probably go to a National Cemetery but then, if I was him, I would be with the grieving parents in Texas. A lot of us will relax, cookout and just enjoy the day. How many of us will reflect about the people that served and of the ones that gave their lives for our Country? I know I will. We honor our Veterans way too little for all they sacrificed for our nation. I know that there are some that feel that our Veterans are suckers and losers especially the ones that have lost their lives. Those are the people that believe that people have been put on this earth to serve them. You know the type. Rich and arrogant. Think that they know more than anyone around them.   I swear I was just writing about this. Guns, what do we do about guns? Is easy access to guns a problem? I would say, yes. Is it the only problem I would say no? I am pretty emotional today as I write this. 19 children dead, two adults dead, shot in an Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Sometimes it just makes me want to scream. Do not tell me that guns do not kill people, that people kill people. People with guns kill people. Do not tell me we can’t go around banning things that would kill people because you can just as easily kill a person with a knife. That argument is not going to fly today. 19 children are dead because of the gun culture that is part of America. This is coming from a gun holder but just because I own guns does not mean that I believe in the wild wild west approach to guns we have today. Guns are not making us safer.   It is always interesting where I get the things to write about. Yesterday on Twitter I complained about Florida banning math books because of the Critical Race Theory. Some guy posted a reply of a screenshot of a mathematical test that measured how much of a racist you are proving that CRT is taught in our schools. This test appeared to be an online test but I could be wrong. In the text of the picture it did state that over 2 million people have taken the online test. Of course, I know that what is online is not a text book.   He gave me a screen shot of adding and subtracting polynomials. One of the mathematical formulas the screen shot he gave me was S = 0.3x 3 – 2.8x 2 + 6.7x + 30. This is way beyond the math that of an elementary student or a middle school student. When I Google it appeared to me to be College Algebra. In my opinion if an elementary school kid is smart enough at math to solve a problem like this one he or she should be learning a lot about all kinds of theorie

  I struggle with this liberal and conservative stuff today. It is to the point that I don’t know what a liberal or a conservative is anymore. Is hate speech conservative speech? It wasn’t when I was growing up. I have watched the conservative movement evolve from Barry Goldwater to what we have today. I am convinced that the conservative that he was in the 60s is equal to the liberals that we have 60 years later. Everything evolves and so has the conservative movement to the point that it is no longer recognizable today. What has changed the conservative movement? In my opinion it is religion and hate. There are things about the conservative movement that always attracted me. Smaller government was one. Did the Conservative movement ever reach the goal of smaller government or was it just talk?   I think it was mostly talk.   Saw a headline that there is a racist subculture in America. Well, as Gomer Pyle would say “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise”. You do not have to be a mental giant to be able to figure that out. My worst read blogs are the ones I write about racism. Sometimes I feel that too much of the White population feel that racism is just a Black problem. We live in our lily white neighborhoods and racism is not part of our everyday lives. Race is also a topic that I write about a lot, even though like most people it is a difficult subject to right about or discuss because we really do not understand the black experience. Women peacefully marched all over this country in protest of the Supreme Court and abortion. Social media had tons of postings and pictures on it which is fine. Women should be upset and they have every right to protest. Part of me wants to be marching right there with them.   Ten dead in Buffalo, 13 total were shot with 11 of those being black. More thoughts and prayers like that are really going to do something. We have a huge part of a political party talking about the White Replacement Theory. We have a cable news channel talking about the White Replacement Theory. 10 are dead because a young White male believed what he was told about the White Replacement Theory. On the same day as the shooting Ted Nugent told people that were attending a Trump rally in Austin Texas that the Democrats were the enemy of the people, and they should be going berserk on the heads of Democrats. Your neighbor is the enemy of the people just because he voted for a Democrat? When will we hold the Republican Party responsible for all their hate speech? When will we hold Fox News responsible for all their hate speech? Hate speech is not the news. Hate speech is destroying our democracy.   I always talk about how our democracy is under attack. As I have been reading this week I find that it may actually be more serious than I thought. We have what some will call runaway inflation. We seem to be paying more and more at the pump while the price of oil itself does not reflect the price we are paying. We have many Republicans of course pointing the fingers at Biden saying that this is his fault. I saw one person saying that if Trump was still President his 401K would not have gone down. I think what we have is people not wanting to fix a problem because it is to their political advantage to have things go badly. It seems like they feel if they help things to go bad that it is also to their political advantage. People are made to suffer so people can claim a political advantage.   Today I was called a Racist. Well she said that my criticism of Obama was from my ingrained racism. That statement struck a nerve with me. My answer back to her was that she apparently hadn’t been following my blog. Let me remind everyone that I am not a racist. I am a recovering racist. My problem is that the lady was calling me a racist because I criticized Obama. It is just plain wrong to chastise me without reading what I had written. I have written a lot about Clarence Thomas and not a single person has called me a racist for that.  I will tell you that I proudly voted for Obama not once but twice. Neither time did I vote for him because he was a Black man. Both times I voted for him because I thought that he was the best man running for the job. I liked John McCain but I liked Obama more. He brought a dignity to the office that I thought was dearly lacking from the Bush administration. He had a way about him that I felt would garner the respect of the world and I think he did

  I saw headlines that Clarence Thomas was complaining about America not wanting to live with the outcome that we don’t like. I found that an interesting statement from the husband of Ginni Thomas. Ginni Thomas has been in the news about encouraging of the dismantling of our democracy by the promotion of the Big Lie Campaign by the Trump Administration. To me, she was calling for political discourse to stop the legitimate transfer of power.   She wanted to help keep the man that was not elected for a second term in the White House. He singles out young people when he should also be signaling out his own wife. Clarence Thomas’ words are like the pot calling the kettle black. His wife did not want to live with an outcome that she didn’t like.   It looks like she went about trying to be disruptive and a bully to change the outcome.   How did we get here? How has the division of this country gotten worse? I have been writing, researching and writing this blog for over a year and a half. I have discovered many things that I did not know before but I have come to some conclusions that have shaken my faith in America. The lying and misinformation that has meant to weaken our nation has done just that, weakened our nation and that there are many Americans that would rather live in a weakened America as long as it is a White Republican America. Can anyone deny that all the misinformation has divided America? Who benefits by a weakened America? Certainly not America? How can you have a united America when half the country will not even try and look for the truth? They are very happy wallowing in their hate. The problem is that hate can never unite us.   The Supreme Court is the watch dog of the Constitution, the third part of the checks and balances that the founding fathers thought was needed so no branch of the government was too powerful. Their job is to protect the Constitution. They are not to write legislation, their job is to make sure that the legislation written does not violate the Constitution. Their job is not to make policy but to make sure that policy adheres to the Constitution. Their job is to make sure that the other two sides are being honest to the Constitution. Their job is to protect the rights of all Americans. So what happens when the Supreme Court is not honest? What happens when the Integrity of the Supreme Court is being questioned?   Elon Musk has bought Twitter and like everyone else I am curious to see what will be happening to Twitter. I can never in the life of me wonder why a person would want to own something like twitter unless they want to manipulate the conversation. Free speech is something that the rich and powerful has always tried to manipulate but the minute you start manipulating the conversation you no long have free speech. Is that what Elon Musk is going to do? If it is, then it would probably mean the end of Twitter. I write a blog so I take free speech very seriously, attempts to silence voices like mine has been tried throughout history. What are the two biggest groups that want to silence voices? How about the Government and the Church. What we are talking about is Free Speech, Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression.
