I read the news every day. Of course the news is dominated by the Russian / Ukraine war. I look at this as the classic bully picking on the little guy. In the movies the bully is always the hated villain. In real life this is not always true. We have people blaming Ukraine for the War. You have people blaming the United States for the war. One of those people has been Tucker Carlson of Fox News or as some people calls it Russian Propaganda News. Is this something that should be upsetting or is this just history repeating itself?

Victim blaming is always there. Victim blaming seems to be as American as apple pie. The woman was dressed too provocative and that is why she was assaulted. If the kid had only listened he wouldn’t have been be beaten up. The black man would still be alive if he had submitted. These are excuses for bad behavior. We had them pre World War II. People like Charles Lindbergh creating anti-Jewish sentiment here at home while Hitler was rounding Jews up in Europe. He is still considered an American Hero but he may have been pro Hitler for a while. They preached isolation similar to Trump’s America First. Did that push for isolation lead to more deaths? There were actually people that were pushing for a military alliance with Germany. They feared Communism more than they feared Fascism. Both types of governments probably should have been feared equally because they killed millions. It is mind boggling how many millions died by those two forms of government in the 1930s.

Now we have people like Tucker Carlson blaming everyone but Russia for the war in Ukraine. Before the war started he thought that we should be siding with Russia and not Ukraine. Tucker Carlson I swear would have been like all those guys standing behind the bully encouraging him to beat the weaker kid up. Or some coward in the back of a lynch mob yelling “string the bastard up” while letting someone else do the dirty work. Tucker Carlson was justifying the invasion of a democracy by a fascist government and he was using the American cable news outlets to do it. Russian Propaganda is on American Cable TV.  After considerable backlash he stated that he was wrong but the damage was done. The sound bites he gave the Russian Propaganda machine were rolling all over the Russian airways. Ukrainian people have died and Trucker Carlson’s sound bites helped that in my opinion. I think that he is still supplying sound bites for Russia when he talks about the Ukraine and Bio Chemical weapons labs. I swear he is one of their biggest weapons that Russia has. The misinformation coming out of Tucker Carlson’s mouth is meant to divide America. Biden may have helped unify Europe but Fox News is still dividing the good old U.S. of A.

Is Ukraine a threat to Russia? I don’t think so. No more than Mexico would be a threat to the United States. Would Ukraine joining the European Union be a physical threat to the survival of Russia? I don’t see how. Would Ukraine joining the European Union hurt Russia financially? I don’t know enough about the economics of the two countries but joining the European Union would probably be good for Ukraine. Would Ukraine joining NATO threaten Russia? Russia will say “yes” but I will say “no”. I do not think that there is a single NATO country that wants to invade Russia. If it wasn’t for the Communistic aggression of the Soviet Union NATO would have never been formed. That is right. NATO was formed to stop aggression and that is why Putin is so dead against the Ukraine joining NATO. Not because they fear for the Security of Russia but because they wouldn’t be able to rebuild the old Soviet Union. The war in Ukraine is about Russian expansion and Russian power.

Fake information is now one of the biggest weapons of any conflict and cable news and social media play right into that. Controlling the airwaves may be more important than an Air Force controlling the skies. We have had great newscasters in this country that have done some very good informational research. Tucker Carlson and Fox News will never be mistaken for any of those guys. You can’t call Tucker Carlson a traitor because we are not at war with Russia but you can call him a Russian asset as far as I am concerned. The division of America is meant to weaken America. Who benefits from a weakened America? You already know the answer to that but I will repeat it. Russia and Putin that’s who.

On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
It is Easter again. I walked away from the church years ago, in fact, a long time ago. Why? I just couldn't understand what the Bible said, and what society was becoming, and how they interacted with each other. I saw the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer, and I could no longer reconcile how this fit the teachings of the Gospel. The moment that reminded me why I walked away wasn’t a sermon or a scandal. It was watching a politician, a man who openly admits he doesn’t read the Bible much, argue with the Pope about Jesus as if he were the expert in the room. One man has spent his entire life studying Scripture. The other can’t even quote Scripture. Yet millions of Christians lined up behind the politician anyway. In fact, they have even compared him to Jesus. That was the moment I realized I hadn’t walked away from Jesus. I was walking away from what had been done to him, not by his crucifixion 2000 years ago, but by how we crucify him almost daily today. Whe...
