What is with these Republicans? We have DeSantis making war on Mickey Mouse and anyone that disagrees with him about “don’t say gay” and we have Trump asking for the help of Putin and the Russians for dirt on Hunter Biden. Is there a Republican out there that doesn’t want to divide America? Our country may not be more divided than is was at the height of the Vietnam War but it has got to be close. One of the biggest differences with the division in the 60s was that you never felt that there were people that wanted our democracy to fail. There were people that wanted our democracy to do better. Today I just feel like there are too many Americans that have turned their backs on their own democracy and most of those Americans are in the Republican Party.

Trump claimed in the early part of his Presidency that he did not collude with the Russians to win the election. In a speech he asked the Russians for help with getting dirt on Hillary Clinton but only to back away for those comments as being a joke. His children met with the Russians in an effort to try and get dirt on Hillary Clinton. They first lied about it saying that they were meeting about the adoption of Russian children. You would have thought they could have come up with a better lie. There is no way the Trumps would care about the adoption of Russian children process unless they could make money off it. Donny Jr. later did admit that they met to get dirt on Hillary. President Trump may not have colluded with the Russians but it sure looked like his family did. . I find it hard to believe that his family would do anything without his permission. Every agency in the country said that the Russians worked to influence our election in favor of Trump. In an interview with Just the News he asks again for help from Russia and Putin for dirt on not Hillary Clinton this time but Hunter Biden. Here Russia and Putin is in a war against the Ukraine and he is killing women and children and our ex-president is asking that butcher for help so he can attack our sitting President. I don’t know what you call that but I call that wanting to collude with a foreign power to destroy our democracy. That to me is treason.

We have all seen those movie with the bad guy kidnapping or attacking the good guy’s family so he can gain the upper hand on the good guy. That is what we have here. Trump is trying to destroy Hunter Biden as a way of destroying our President and Democracy. Criminals in the movies do this and I think that criminals like the Trumps in real life would do this too. I don’t know much about Hunter Biden and to be honest with you I don’t want to know anything about Hunter Biden that I don’t already know. I know that he is a veteran that served his country and like many veterans he has had his ups and downs. I know that like a good father, Joe Biden has stood by his child with love and understanding. Biden has family values. There was even a picture of Biden kissing his granddaughter on the head and people showing the picture claiming he was a pedophile. Hunter Biden did not run for president, his father did. I don’t think that there was a single ballet cast for Hunter Biden but there were a few million more ballots cast for Joe Biden than there was for Trump. What would have happened if the Clinton Campaign or the Biden Campaign had solicited help from a foreign power to get dirt on the Trump family? I know that they have tried to tie Hillary to the Steele dossier and that may be real. That is still not asking a foreign government to help her dig up dirt on her opponent.

Can you imagine that dirt that is out there on Donny Jr. alone? Not once did I see Joe Biden go on T. V. and ask for help getting dirt on any member on the Trump family from a foreign power. Biden loves America and tries to make his record working for the American people speak for him. He has led with dignity through leadership for the betterment of all Americans not just those in the so called blue states. In fact, unlike Trump and the Republicans, Biden does not divide America by red and blue.  He took an oath to defend America not just Blue America. Trump treated States that voted for him differently than States that did not. That is not a man that embraces a love for our Democratic process. That is a man that is more interested in a criminal enterprise like what Putin has.

DeSantis makes war on Mickey Mouse over diversity training and Trump asked a foreign power to help destroy our Democratic process. The real problem that I have is there are still people out there that embrace the lies and hate that is the Republican Party. I use to vote Republican but the hatred and bigotry chased me away over 20 years ago. I was in favor of smaller government but I was also in favor of ethical leadership that we were not getting from the Republican Party. To me ethical leadership is more important that corrupt leadership. Bigotry and violence is now part of the Republican Party platform. The lying and misinformation for the Republican party has not only weakened our nation but has also taken the lives of Americans that did not have to die if the Republicans would have shown true and honest leadership. I would rather be writing about healthcare and moving the country forward but how can you write about moving the country forward when you have a group of people wanting to destroy what our forefathers created.

On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
It is Easter again. I walked away from the church years ago, in fact, a long time ago. Why? I just couldn't understand what the Bible said, and what society was becoming, and how they interacted with each other. I saw the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer, and I could no longer reconcile how this fit the teachings of the Gospel. The moment that reminded me why I walked away wasn’t a sermon or a scandal. It was watching a politician, a man who openly admits he doesn’t read the Bible much, argue with the Pope about Jesus as if he were the expert in the room. One man has spent his entire life studying Scripture. The other can’t even quote Scripture. Yet millions of Christians lined up behind the politician anyway. In fact, they have even compared him to Jesus. That was the moment I realized I hadn’t walked away from Jesus. I was walking away from what had been done to him, not by his crucifixion 2000 years ago, but by how we crucify him almost daily today. Whe...
