There is some real scary stuff going on. I watched the 6/23 hearings on the insurrection and was just amazed at the depths that some in the Trump administration and his supporters were willing to sink to in their efforts to destroy are democracy. There is no better way to say what they were trying to do to stay in power and in some cases like Jeffery Clark trying to gain more power for himself by promoting a lie. The lying that is going on now just is actually increasing. Lying to cover for the lie that covered for the lie and the lying can go on forever. Ron Johnson first denied any knowledge about the fake electoral votes from Wisconsin and Michigan that his aid tried to pass off to Vice President Pence. He keeps changing his story to the point where he is now throwing Rep. Kelly from Pennsylvania under the bus to cover his own butt. If you examine what Ron Johnson has stated over the years I think that you will come to the conclusion that he is not an honest man. I hear that he bills the Government for travel to or from his home in Florida.  More stories like this one are going to be rising to the surface.

The hearing on 6/23 was all about the Department of Justice and how Trump wanted to use it as his private, not really, police force. Maybe calling it his own political enforcement force would be a better choice of words. The people of the DOJ are appointed or hired to protect and serve the law not a President. Of course that it not how Trump saw their role. They were expected to be loyal to the President instead of the Constitution that they all swore an oath to protect. At one point he stated that he just wanted the DOJ to say the election was corrupt and he and the Republicans in Congress would take care of the rest. He wanted the DOJ to lie. If you really think about that, it is really scary stuff. Germany had a dictator that he expected everyone to be loyal to him. They screamed Hiel Hitler showing their loyalty to the leader and not their country. No one dared to oppose. In the end millions died because they were thought of as inferior or the enemy of the people. Does any of this sound familiar? When the Democrats were described as the enemy of the people that really shocked me. It was thinking like that that caused the Holocaust that killed millions. Yes, this stuff is really scary.

The 6/23 hearing was basically the questioning of three of the top Department of Justice officials Steven Engel, the head of the Office of Legal Counsel under Trump, Jeffrey Rosen, acting Attorney General under Trump and Richard Donoghue, Deputy Attorney General under Trump. They testified about all the pressure that was pretty much daily from Trump to the Justice Department in an effort for them to assist in the change of the outcome of a legal election. A lot of the testimony of who appeared to me to had been a very ambitious Deputy Director in the DOJ in charge of environmental problems. He came up with a way on how to challenge the election by having States like Georgia open a special session to challenge the results in those states that Trump thought he should have won. Now Clark reported to Donoghue and Rosen but with the help of a congressman he bypassed his bosses and presented his idea directly to Trump. That alone in very unethical but it looks like Clark, an ambitious man that had his sights set of the Attorney Generals job, would do just about anything to get there. Trump was going to fire Rosen and replace him with Clark because Rosen would never send out the letter. Engel and Donaghue said that they would resign and Donaghue stated that there would be mass resignations with the DOJ if Trump would follow through with his plan. In the end Trump backed down and the letter was never sent. To those three men their oath of office meant something. They lived it. To Trump and his supporters that oath meant nothing.

Now Trump wanted Rosen to appoint a Special Council like they had for Watergate. He wanted this Counsel to investigate voter fraud. Of course who did he want them to appoint? How about Sidney Powel the election conspiracy lawyer herself. She is the one that went after the Dominion Voting Machines claiming that they were all corrupt because of a dead dictator from Venezuela or something like that. Of course none of that was true and she is being sued for millions by Dominion because of the damage that her lies have done to the company. Do you know what her defense is? Her defense is that nobody in their right mind should have believed what she was saying. Let that sink in. A person that nobody should believe was the person that Trump wanted to be the Special Council for voter fraud. This stuff is so bizarre you can’t make this stuff up. If they ever make a movie about the Trump Administration it may have to be labeled a comedy if it wasn’t so damaging to our Country.

What I am beginning to believe is that Trump would spend his time on the internet and search conspiracy theories and when he saw one he would ask the Justice Department to investigate. There was that one of the Italian Satellites that were interfering with the voting machines that Trump had viewed on YouTube. He wanted them to confiscate the voting machine and to interview the guy on YouTube. That is as crazy of Marjorie Taylors Greene’s lasers from space causing the forest fires. I believe that Trump thought he knew more than the DOJ because he used the internet more. Trump and his followers did not work with facts. They worked with conspiracy theories that fit their need at the time.

When all this was done and after January 6th there were at least 6 members of Congress that asked Trump for pardons. The six that we know of are Matt Gaetz, Mo Brooks, Andy Biggs, Scott Perry, Louie Gohmert and of course Marjorie Taylor Greene. There may be more as more and more people get thrown under the bus. You do not ask for a pardon if you know you have done nothing wrong. You ask for a pardon because that you know for a fact that you have broken the law and are afraid of prosecution.

Tommy Tuberville made a comment about Biden eating an ice cream cone in New York City. He posted on X that “Hope @JoeBiden enjoyed going out for ice cream in NYC while the rest of the city is afraid of crime and migrants”. If Senator Tuberville was really an informed and knowledgeable lawmaker he would know that Alabama, the State that he represents in the Senate, has a murder rate that is three times the rate of New York City. I wonder if this is a case of another Republican lying and giving misinformation in an attempt to weaken our nation or is he just a politician that doesn’t have a clue to the real problems that face the nation and the State he is suppose to represent. Maybe it would help if Tuberville actually lived in the State he is supposed to represent. If you believe the Washington Post he actually lives in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I have been to Santa Rosa Beach and I have to admit it is beautiful there but that should not be an excuse for not living in the State you r
If I was a parent of a handicapped or developmentally disabled child I would be very nervous right now. If I was a parent of a Gay or Tran’s child I would be very nervous. Why? I think that we have a person running for the office of President that thinks that it is ok to mock people with disabilities. President Biden is a stutterer and he has worked hard to overcome that disability. That should be something that should be an inspiration to not only people with disabilities but to the entire nation. He is a man that has risen above his stuttering to achieve remarkable things. By Trump mocking Biden because of his stuttering he is sending a message to the entire country it is ok to bully other people just because they are different or have a disability. Now Biden is a grown man that has had to endure bullying like that all his life and he has come out probably stronger because of it. Not everyone is as strong as Biden. Biden is not the first person that Trump has insulted because a h
Trump’s oath of office, his lawyers are saying that Trump never took an oath to support the Constitution. Why would his lawyers say this? The reason is because the Presidential oath of office does not have the word “Support” in it. The Presidential oath uses the words “Preserve, Protect, and Defend” the Constitution. Why would the Presidential oath not use the word support? Could it be that the President is held to a higher standard than just support the Constitution? I have read that is the reason why that the words “Preserve, Protect and Defend” are used is to show the greater responsibility the President has to the Constitution. I think Trump’s lawyers want us to believe that Trump had less of a responsibility to our Constitution because the word “Support” is not in his oath. I think just the opposite; he had a stronger responsibility and failed at that responsibility, badly. Maybe that is because he never read the Constitution of the United States. Trump’s lawyers also say Sect
