So, the United States is going into the resort business using taxpayers' money. Trump, with Israel’s Prime Minister at his side, laid out a plan for the U.S. to take over the Gaza Strip and build resorts. Trump stated, “I don’t want to be cute. I don’t want to be a wise guy, but – the Riviera of the Middle East. This would be so magnificent.” There are some Trump loyalists that are jumping on the bandwagon. Nancy Mace of North Carolina stated, “Let's turn Gaza into Mar-a-logo”. Richard Hudson of North Carolina wrote, “President Trump will never stop working to ensure historic and lasting PEACE”. House Speaker Johnson stated, “We’re trying to get the details of it, but I think this is a good development.” Of course, all Republicans were not enthused. Ron Paul wrote, “The pursuit for peace should be that of the Israelis and the Palestinians. I thought we voted for America First”. Lindsey Graham stated, “Let’s see what our Arab friends have to say about that.”

Do we as a nation have such a short memory of why terrorists brought down the Twin Towers? Islamic fundamentalists did not want us in the Middle East; it was that simple. Looking at it, you will see that much of the region still feels that same way. Our Twin Towers were attacked because of our presence in the Middle East. If we take over the Gaza Strip, we will be putting a bullseye on the back of every American in the Middle East and inviting Terrorist attacks on American interests all over the world. You know, Saudi Arabia will not agree to it, and remember, most of the 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. You are also looking at displacing 2 million people from their homeland. Haven’t we learned anything from our own sins of the past? I have seen it written that some people think this would lead to the genocide of the Palestinian people. In fairness, I have not seen anything about concentration camps or internment camps, but if you displace that many people, you will need something. I am pretty sure it will not be a place the Palestinian people will want to be any more than our own native Americans wanted to be on the reservations. Do I think Gaza is going to be turned into the Riviera of the Middle East? No, I don’t! There is not a chance in hell that it is going to happen. I don’t even believe Trump thinks it is going to happen. If it isn’t going to happen then why are we even talking about it? I think it is to deflect our attention to the real issues like the crumbling of our Republic and the security of our information.    

Elon Musk and his crew of juvenile delinquents have been raiding our personal information. The Republicans spent years complaining about Hillary and her personal email server. MAGA spent years yelling to “lock her up” because of her email server. Now we have Musk and his crew running around accessing our personal information, and the Republicans are mostly quiet. MAGA is mostly quiet; I have not heard a single chant from MAGA to lock up Musk. What legal authority does Musk have besides being appointed by Trump? I worked in IT in a hospital and had to go through HIPPA training every year. Protecting patient information was a very big deal, and it was the law. If a nurse knew that a friend was in the hospital, if the nurse was not directly involved with that friend’s care the nurse was not even allowed to see how that friend was doing, even if was ok with the friend. If any hospital employee was caught looking at information that was restricted information they could be terminated. Our personal information should be something that Musk or any other person no matter what branch of the government or political appointment should never have access to. I know it is supposedly his job to find and identify waste but I don’t think accessing our personal information is a way to identify government waste. I also want to know who vetted Musk’s staff. Has the FBI done a thorough investigation on any of them? Where is our security? If they had not been properly vetted by the FBI there is no way they should have even got in the front door. Also, who has investigated Musk? He is the billionaire that has the ear of both Russia and China, two countries that are trying to contribute to our downfall.

While all the chaos that Musk is causing the disaster that is the Trump Cabinet continues. We have Robert Kennedy Jr that has been nominated for the Health Secretary Cabinet position, it is almost impossible to think he is anywhere near being qualified. Is it important that the Secretary of Health and Human Services be in the medical field? No, and many in the past have not. But they must be smart enough to let the medical experts below them do the job. I just don’t think that is something Robert Kennedy Jr. can do. He is a person who has in the past believed in fringe conspiracy and even pushed conspiracy theories like the one on vaccines causing Autism. In 2019 an allegation of the Measles vaccine led to two infants' deaths despite the finding the two infants had received a muscle relaxant along with the vaccine by mistake. He helped fuel a vaccine hesitancy that gave rise to the 2019 Samoa measles outbreak, which killed over 70 people. It is that type of irresponsibility that we need to keep out of the seats of power.

If you look at any of Trump's Cabinet positions, do you see a lot of qualified people who are being nominated? I don’t. We have a couple of nominees with links to the Russians. Can we trust people with links to the people that want to destroy us? I am sorry but I can’t. Rubio was the Senator from my state of Florida and I have seen him go from being very anti-Trump to being his lap dog. Presidents do not need lap dogs; they need people who will give straightforward. honest advice and not just be puppets. They have to be like managers handling a huge corporation that is working for the good of the people. Maybe that is what scares me about the Trump administration. He appears to me as a man who just wants lap dogs and not the best and the brightest.

This is my continued search on whether Trump has the Character to be President. A person I know stated “His character matters bc it is in the character I believe he has the leadership, knowledge, wisdom, experience, compassion, integrity that will lead us on the path towards a more safe, secure, healthy, prosperous, free world than the direction we are headed.” My last blog looked at his character as integrity from a legal standpoint before he even was elected President.   I will tell you that I am no Christian, but I will tell you that I was raised in a Christian household. I was baptized, went to Sunday School, was Confirmed, and attended church into adulthood.
