I Could Be Wrong.

  Trump now has his Big Beautiful Bill . Who talks that way? The only people that come to mind are people like carnival barkers and con men trying to sell us snake oil. Is this what the Republican Party has become? A bunch of Snake Oil Salesmen? One thing I am sure of is that Snake Oil Salesmen were more interested in making a sale and turning a profit than they were in selling you something that would actually help you.   That is how I look at the Republican Party and Trump's Big Beautiful Bill . I looked at what is being said about the bill, and the first thing that jumped out at me is the 5 trillion tax cuts. Spending cuts are intended to mitigate some of the debt these tax cuts will cause, but the cuts will still add approximately $3.6 trillion to the National debt, which is already at $36 trillion. Who benefits from these cuts? A whole lot of rich people will. There is a provision where overtime will not be taxed, and neither will tips, but those are temporary cuts that...

  It is another Memorial Day weekend; to me, it is a time to honor or at least acknowledge the sacrifices of those who have fought and worked to keep us safe. When I was a boy, I lived right next to Greenridge Memorial Cemetery in Kenosha, WI. Every year, they would have a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial section of the Cemetery. It would start with the Colored Guard, the Rambler Band marching down 7 th Ave., followed by dignitaries entering the cemetery through the main gate, taking a left, and marching to the Veterans area. Every year, my friend Jim and I would ride are bikes along with them, feeling like we were participating in the ceremony. We knew the day was more than just a day off from school and backyard barbeques. It was a day of remembrance for the people who sacrificed not only for the nation, but also because I was there participating in the ceremony, I always had the idea that they sacrificed it all for me, for my freedom.   The City of Kenosha used to have ...

  I was saddened to read that Joe Biden has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I have known several people who have had Prostate Cancer and, years later, are alive and kicking, still enjoying a fruitful life. What saddened me more was the conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork, claiming Biden was not competent and an investigation was needed to determine why he remained in office. Some have called it one of the biggest cover-ups in the history of our nation. What saddens me most is that even though the Republicans control both Houses and the White House, they have to continue to attack Biden.   Instead of trying to live up to their campaign promises, they attack the man who has retired from public service. He has Prostate cancer, which does not affect the brain.   Throughout his presidency, Biden has been very honest with the nation, which is something that Trump may say, but that wouldn’t be the truth.   America, wake up! That’s right. Open your eyes and put in your hearing aids and wake the hell up. I don’t care if you call yourself a liberal or a conservative. I don’t care if you call yourself a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or even a Communist. You can label yourself with all these things because of one document, which is under attack. It is under attack by the very people who have sworn to uphold and protect that document. That document is the Constitution of the United States of America. There are people in every branch of the Government who have forsaken their oath of office and have turned their backs on the very document that defines what this country is about. When our Constitution was written, it was not written with political parties in mind. It was written as a document “of the people, by the people, and for the people”, all the people.   Corruption and incompetence continue to exist. I don’t know about you, but this is exactly what I thought the results of another Trump presidency would look like. I didn’t expect him to get a 400-million-dollar plane that will look like a brothel from the chief financiers of Hamas, but I did know it would always be about Trump first and America last. Whether it is about his crypto scheme or his wanting to turn Gaza into a resort, it is all about Trump and never about America.   Trump has now paused his 145 percent tariffs against China and has left just a 30 percent tariff in place. It is, of course, being spun as some sort of victory by Trump that we all should thank him for. I will ask this question: Is there ever a winner in a trade war? Negotiations need to be a win-win for everyone. The Republicans can paint this like a win if they want to, but through this whole process, it is the United States that has failed to look like anything but a bully on the world stage. ...

  Almost every day on ROKU TV, I see this commercial with our Homeland Security Secretary Kristie Noem. She starts by thanking President Trump for securing our borders. I am going to be totally honest with you. I don’t think Trump has done anything to secure our borders. We may have fewer poor immigrants trying to reach the promised land that the United States once was, but, as I have written before, none of these individuals could be remotely considered a terrorist. If you remember, not a single person who participated in the 9/11 attacks snuck across the border. They all entered the country legally. If a terrorist wanted to sneak into the country, I sure wouldn’t do it sneaking across the Mexican/United States border, one of the mostly watched borders in the Northern Hemisphere.   It is not people looking for work that are a threat to our country, it is the people that are pissed at our country that I fear.
