This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Monday, a day of remembrance for all those that have served and passed away and for all those that have died protection our Constitution. Some of us will be taking advantage of the weather to get a jump on summer. Yet some of us will remember those that have come before us to insure the safety of our democracy. Not only do we need to thank the military, but also all the first responders that have come to our aid when we need them.

This Memorial Day we should remember those members of the Capital Police force that fought to save our democracy from the domestic terrorism that threatened our democracy and still does threaten it. When our Capital was attacked for the first time since the War of 1812 they were the ones that rushed to defend it. It was their acts of bravery that saved the lives of many of the politicians that would now deny their acts if bravery. On Monday I will say a silent thank you to those that have truly stood up for America and protected our Constitution. After 9/11 we learned that not all the heroes wore military uniforms. Some wore firefighting uniforms and some wore police uniforms. Some were just everyday people going about their job and died because we were attacked.

Like most American holidays there is always an argument who was the first. It was first called Decoration Day which was a day that women in the south would decorate the graves of the fallen soldiers. Of course when the North began to do it also the South claimed that the North was stealing their holiday. At this point I do not think it matters. What matters is that we honor the men and women of this nation that have put their lives on the line and continue to put their lives on the line in defense of the Constitution. It started as a day to decorate the graves of the fallen soldiers and has expanded to help us honor all the brave souls that have defended this nation.

How can you be an insurrectionist and a believer in the Constitution at the same time? I don’t think you can. The insurrectionists tried to destroy a branch of our government that is part of the constitution. Yes the Legislative Branch is part of the Constitution. The courts had ruled there was no fraud. The Congress was doing their Constitutional duty to certify the election. Everything had gone according to the Constitution. What happens next? A mob of Domestic Terrorists are directed to march on the Capital and make them change the results of the election. They tried to destroy a branch of our government and install a non-elected person as President.  That is like appointing a dictator. No matter how hard some of the politician’s try to spin it. all the digital evidence will survive for generations if not forever. It was on live TV for the world to see. It is not only part of U S history, it is also part of world history. We saw the bravery some of the Capital’s finest and those should be honored along with all the defenders of our Constitution.

As I am writing this there is a congressman from Florida by the name of Matt Gaetz that seems to be kicking off his presidential run. Now he appears to be advocating violence against the people of Silicon Valley pretending that he can use the 2nd amendment to do it. His logic is beyond what I feel is even sane. Does he have a right to form a militia to force his will upon people in another state? Here it is a weekend of remembrance a of the true Patriots and we have this idiot running around trying to put up smoke screens because he is under investigation for have sex with a minor and transporting that minor across state lines. The second amendment definitely was not meant for defending that. He is just an embarrassment to all that have taken up arms to defend this nation and that great document.

Everyone have a great Memorial Day and remember. Remember the fallen that gave all so this nation can continue to be free.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
