As I have said, the lying in politics has been going on as long as there have been politicians. What always comes to my mind is trickledown economics. The first time I heard about that trickledown economics I never thought it made sense. Put money in the hands of the rich, by cutting their taxes and they will create all those jobs. Paul Ryan called the rich job creators which sounded great. Of course it didn’t work that way. Why?  Well, those job creators, in reality, sent a lot of those jobs overseas so they could make even a bigger profit or, they bought back stock to inflate its value. We cut their taxes so they can create jobs that they are sending overseas or increase their own stock value. Greed does not create a lot of jobs.  Now, they say that the reason we have problems because immigrants are coming here and taking our jobs. I will guarantee you the immigrants have never sent a single job overseas, greedy corporations have. But now we need a wall that will keep the immigrants out. Over 60 percent of the illegal immigrants come through legal ports of entry. What does the wall solve? Really nothing. That is just the point. They start lying, and they continue to lie, to justify the other lies. Where does it end? When is a political party going to say “hey we were wrong and we need to go in a new direction?” My point is that we go from one lie to another - trickledown economics to create jobs to immigrants are stealing the jobs.

I have posted a lot that the lying has got to stop and that the lying and misinformation has weakened America. That to me is probably the most truthful statement that I have ever made. Now, politicians have been lying for as long as there has been politics. There is a huge difference today and that is the digital media and the social media. It used to be that the news media had to bust their butts for a story. Hours on the phone and working the beat. The reporter use to cover a story and then write about it and hope that the public reads it. Television made it a little easier but still a lot of work had to be done so that your message was heard. There was a Fairness Doctrine that was done away with in 1987 during the Reagan administration that helped create the wild west situation we have now. I will be honest with you people argue that it would have not applied to cable news outlets. We will never really know because the Fairness Doctrine was gone by the time cable news became so popular. Now we bring on the Internet and social media. It is hard to change the narrative to a story when we can watch it live, unfolding right in front of us. A little girl with a cell phone can record a police officer kneeling on a black man’s neck for nine minutes. That results in the conviction of that police officer and that would have never happened 20 years ago. It is a whole new world out there and we must all come to grips with that. You can say things like that they were just tourist at the Capitol but the world will know that you are lying. That is right; the world will know not just America. That is why it weakens us. A liar never looks strong.

We as a nation, as corny as it sounds, must find our strength in the truth if that is possible. The words Truth, Justice and the American Way must become a real statement. It is too easy to spot the liars but the truth? Those words will help make us great. When a representative of the United States walks into the room or sits at a negotiating table I really think that being the most truthful one at the table or in the room will always be the best policy. Our lying a and misinformation has made it hard for America to claim the high ground on the world stage. When the world can see so easily what the truth is and what the lies are because of our digital age we cannot get caught up with all the political posturing and must be a little more straight forward with the truth. The truth is what can heal the nation but it can’t come from me calling you a liar. It can only come when the person admits that they have lied. Misleading and lying to the people that have you have taken an oath to protect and serve to further your own political gain the one thing that you will accomplish is the greater division of our nation. It is the division that weakens us and strengthens our enemies. The liar will always look weak. There is strength in the truth. The Senator that said that they were tourists should maybe try it.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
