I am sitting here in beautiful Door County Wisconsin and it looks like Covid 19 is making a comeback.  The numbers are starting to climb and it looks like my State, Florida is leading the way. Why does that not surprise me? DeSantis has already started is run for the presidency and he is playing to a much larger audience than the State of Florida. He wants the national headlines. He is selling Don’t Fauci My Florida merchandise as the numbers are going up and more people will die. His track record for hiding data from the public is well known and because of that many people died that didn’t have to. In Florida, our governor is bought and paid for by people that care more about profit than my life.

I lived in Wisconsin when Scott Walker started his presidential campaign early. Scott Walker was also looking out for his National reputation more than the State of Wisconsin and Wisconsin suffered. When Walker campaigned for Governor he campaigned that he was going to bring hundreds of thousands of jobs to the State of Wisconsin and that the Democrats were what was holding the state back. The first thing he did was pass a tax cut to the rich so we went from having a surplus to having a deficit. Then he went after the teachers and the public employees to take cuts to pay for the deficit that he created. All this made national news and he became a darling of the Republican Party. Kenosha had this old Dog Track that the Menomonie Indians wanted to create into a Casino with a top notch entertainment venue that would have created thousands of jobs and brought in all kinds of out of state money into Wisconsin. Everything was approved but it still needed Scott Walker’s approval. Remember he has his eye on the presidency and the Iowa caucus was coming up. What does Iowa have? Riverboat gambling! He didn’t want to piss off the Iowa voters so he turned down the thing that would have brought thousands of jobs to his state so he could look good in Iowa. His run for the presidency cost the state dearly.

Florida will go though the same thing as Wisconsin but instead of jobs it will be lives that are lost. If DeSantis now tries to reign in the pandemic it may appear to the Republican base that he is buckling under to the CDC and the Biden administration. I hope that I am wrong but from his track record already I am afraid that I won’t be. He was very reluctant to do anything the first time around and left most of the decisions to the local communities. From what I have read, I believe that he has tried to take decision-making away capabilities from the local communities but I may be wrong on that. I hope I am. The Virus is wreaking havoc on Florida it and must be because of people are refusing to be vaccinated and to look out for their fellow Floridians. You can spend so much time outside it is a very easy state to social separate. I will never understand the lying and misinformation that is costing people’s lives. I will never understand how so many people can be ok with someone else’s death even though that person could have been saved. I do not understand why the church is not taking a bigger role in saving people’s lives.

As a nation we have to stop the spread of lies and misinformation. We can’t stop the media but we can vote the liars out of office. Most of the country knew that when they elected Trump they elected a liar. Too many of our voters didn’t care. There were too busy blaming people for their own lives. Immigrants for taking away the jobs. People of other beliefs and sexual orientation for what they called lowering the morals of our nation. They blamed the immigrants instead of the people hiring them. They looked at other people’s morals instead of their own. They have let people tell them what the Constitution said instead of reading it themselves. We are in this mess because we let people, with an agenda, weaken our democracy for profit. We let this happen because we permitted our government to be bought by American and Foreign Billionaires. We let them forget that “We are the People” that the constitution is talking about. We are the problem but we are also the solution. We all need to put Country first. We all need to do our homework and vote out those politicians that do not put the people first. We need to get rid of all the people that put party before country. We are not the freest country in the world but if we do our research and really learn what freedom is we can be.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
