My wife was a Teacher. In fact, my wife has her Doctorate in Education. I asked her if she had ever seen a course call Critical Race Theory. Of course the answer was no. I know that there is a theory called Critical Race Theory and like many theories and it may be taught in some colleges.  It should be discussed and debated. To say that something cannot be discussed among children is not a bad thing. Would they understand Critical Race Theory? Probably not. I wouldn’t want unproven theories to be clouding our young people’s mind. If we taught Critical Race Theory to a 1st grader next you would probably want that “God Theory” taught too? Oh what? You say that teaching children about god is ok, where there is probably more proof that backs up the Critical Race Theory than your religion. Of course, I am wrong to call your religion the “God Theory”. What it is your faith? Should your faith be taught to my children?

As a nation we cannot hide from our racial past. It must be taught in our schools because it is a major part of our history. To say that the Civil War was not fought about slavery is just a lie. Yes, you can say it was fought to save the South’s economic system. That economic system was based on slavery. The south’s way of life was based on slavery. Our White Supremacy has its roots in that war. To really study our history you have to study about race. I am sorry it is an uncomfortable subject for some on both sides of the issues but it must be taught. Germany cannot just write Hitler from its history just like we cannot eliminate Robert E. Lee from ours. Our education should be a search for the truth, not just what is easy and painless.

Our schools are a place for learning. When we teach a subject it should be based on the expansion of that child’s knowledge not the suppression of it. Do you know what the suppression of knowledge creates? It creates ignorant adults. That should never be the goal of any educational system. Its goal should always be for a well educated and well informed public. It goal should not only to teach facts but also to teach the students how to think. There lies the problem. People thinking on their own. They may actually think something different than their parents or church. A lot of parents would think that is just fine but there are some that don’t. When you look at countries that suppress knowledge most of them are either fascist dictatorships or communist countries. Hitler burned books that he thought were unsuitable. China suppresses the internet. The suppression of knowledge is never a good thing for the people. Suppression of knowledge will end in the suppression of people.

I would not have a problem with religion being taught in school, if, it was about all the major religions. Yes, let’s teach every child about Islam, Buddhism, Hindu, Judaism, and even Atheism. You are not presenting students with alternative to believe something different. What religion and person practices are up to the home not the schools.  You are just giving them a better understanding of the world. Having an understanding of the real world is what every educational system should do. I use the internet to understand more because I was not taught these things in school. Just maybe if we had more knowledge we would also have more tolerance. Through tolerance maybe we could bring about some peace and understanding.

Your faith is important to you. I understand that. What you need to understand is that I am really glad that it is important to you. What you also have to realize is that it doesn’t mean that it has to be important to me. I would never deny someone their faith. Just remember that my rejection on that faith is not a suppression of you. You want freedom for your faith and I want freedom from your faith. That is not suppression. That is what we should be teaching in our schools.

Tommy Tuberville made a comment about Biden eating an ice cream cone in New York City. He posted on X that “Hope @JoeBiden enjoyed going out for ice cream in NYC while the rest of the city is afraid of crime and migrants”. If Senator Tuberville was really an informed and knowledgeable lawmaker he would know that Alabama, the State that he represents in the Senate, has a murder rate that is three times the rate of New York City. I wonder if this is a case of another Republican lying and giving misinformation in an attempt to weaken our nation or is he just a politician that doesn’t have a clue to the real problems that face the nation and the State he is suppose to represent. Maybe it would help if Tuberville actually lived in the State he is supposed to represent. If you believe the Washington Post he actually lives in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I have been to Santa Rosa Beach and I have to admit it is beautiful there but that should not be an excuse for not living in the State you r
If I was a parent of a handicapped or developmentally disabled child I would be very nervous right now. If I was a parent of a Gay or Tran’s child I would be very nervous. Why? I think that we have a person running for the office of President that thinks that it is ok to mock people with disabilities. President Biden is a stutterer and he has worked hard to overcome that disability. That should be something that should be an inspiration to not only people with disabilities but to the entire nation. He is a man that has risen above his stuttering to achieve remarkable things. By Trump mocking Biden because of his stuttering he is sending a message to the entire country it is ok to bully other people just because they are different or have a disability. Now Biden is a grown man that has had to endure bullying like that all his life and he has come out probably stronger because of it. Not everyone is as strong as Biden. Biden is not the first person that Trump has insulted because a h
Trump’s oath of office, his lawyers are saying that Trump never took an oath to support the Constitution. Why would his lawyers say this? The reason is because the Presidential oath of office does not have the word “Support” in it. The Presidential oath uses the words “Preserve, Protect, and Defend” the Constitution. Why would the Presidential oath not use the word support? Could it be that the President is held to a higher standard than just support the Constitution? I have read that is the reason why that the words “Preserve, Protect and Defend” are used is to show the greater responsibility the President has to the Constitution. I think Trump’s lawyers want us to believe that Trump had less of a responsibility to our Constitution because the word “Support” is not in his oath. I think just the opposite; he had a stronger responsibility and failed at that responsibility, badly. Maybe that is because he never read the Constitution of the United States. Trump’s lawyers also say Sect
