2021 is now done and 2022 has begun. Will this be the year of accountability? Will this be the year that democracy rises up and we again become the shining example for the rest of the world? Will this be the year that democracy begins is fade farther into the sunset? One thing I know for sure is the 2022 will be a year for the history books like no other.

We are fast approaching the first anniversary of the attack on our democracy, January 6th. That date will be forever associated with Trump and all of his supporters. When history writes about the events of January 6th no one who  participated, with the lies leading up to it, will be spared and they shouldn’t be. It was a day when our American Flag was turned into a symbol of hate and was used to beat police defending our Capital. Everyone should have been outraged by that but too many weren’t. I really don’t think you can call yourself a flag waving patriot when you can justify our flag being used as a weapon against our police in an attempt to burn our Constitution and put a non-elected man in the White House. If they would have succeeded our democracy would have ended and that is not an overreaction on my part.

Like most of us I am not a lawyer but I have a good sense of right and wrong that was instilled upon me by my parents, community and the church.  All my life I have been told that lying was bad and the church even said it was a sin. What in the hell has happened to us. Trump and his cronies’ tried to feed the whole country a lie that the election was stolen. He didn’t have any proof. The courts said he didn’t have any proof. His own Department of Justice stated that there was no evidence of widespread fraud that would have changed the results of the election. Trumps lies led to many of his Cabinet to resign before and right after January 6th. Some people like Barr wanted no part of the big lie. What was with the First Baptist of Dallas and the big lie. To me their  Dec 19 celebration with Trump was not about the words of Jesus or the truth. It was about the big lie. Where the church is supposed to be remembering and glorifying the birth of Jesus and these people are worshiping at the feet of Pontius Pilot. That is really not an elaboration. The Church that had helped me know what was right and wrong was justifying the big lie. It makes me think about what else is the Church lying about.

We are approaching the anniversary of when our democracy was attacked and the only people that I see being held accountable is the people that believed the big lie. None of the Liars have been held accountable and continue to lie. I blame our Justice Department for that. Why has not an Independent Council been appointed to investigate the Insurrection and the lying that has been done by Trump and his cronies. The Justice Department appointed Kenneth Star an Independent Counsel to investigate Bill and Hillary Clinton and Whitewater and look were that led to, Monica Lewinsky and the impeachment of Clinton. You want to end the lying. Appoint an Independent counsel that has some power like Kenneth Star had. Susan McDougal went to jail for 18 months for refusing to testify. Guys like Flynn, Bannon and Miller refuse to testify to Congress and they are running around still telling the lies that caused the insurrection in the first place. Our Democracy is under attack which is a lot worse than Whitewater or oral sex in the Oval office. Even though it looks like the weakness from the Democrats that is not able to get action in reality in my opinion it is our Department Of Justice. We have people walking around that tried to conspire to bring down our democracy and the DOJ has not done anything to the people that were really responsible.

There was a black woman in Texas I believe her name was Crystal Mason that got a 5 years sentence for voting by mistake and her ballet was a provincial ballet that was never counted. Not a single insurrectionist has gotten a sentence that sever. It seems like you try to overthrow the government and that is just a slap on the wrist. We need justice, real justice and real accountability and in my opinion only the Department of Justice can give us that.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
