November is going to be here before you know it. What happens in November? Just an election that may change the course of our Democracy or if there will still be a democracy. There are two choices as I see it. We can continue to grow as a democracy and be an inspiration to the world or we can continue to spiral downhill to a type of American Apartheid where people with money control the government through the suppression of the majority. Sound harsh doesn’t it, suppression of the majority. I don’t know what else to call it. For about the next eight months I will be writing a lot about the upcoming election and what it is going to mean to the future of our country but I need your help. I need more people to write and work to ensure that our democracy survives. If you don’t have the words yourself use mine. I won’t care. The message is more important than the messenger. Share your thoughts and beliefs not only to people that agree with you but also people that don’t. I find it hard to believe that there are not enough patriots out there to save our democracy. We just have to work to ensure that they know that their voices will be heard.

I always write that we need to treat every election as a referendum for Democracy and our Constitution against Fascism and American Apartheid. We must unite against the racism and bigotry that the Republicans bring to the table. I know that sound pretty harsh too. Is every Republican a racist? No! Does every Republican stand in solidarity with racism and I will say yes! To me it appears that Racism is now part of the Republican Party platform along with the promotion of violence. They have made no qualms about what they want to accomplish with gerrymandering. Voter suppression and racism go hand in hand and gerrymandering is just another form of voter suppression. Their goal is to suppress the vote to guarantee that they will win. The big question is how far will they go to suppress the vote? Will they go as far as suppressing the results? That is what some tried to do with the 2020 election.  A fear that many of us have is that many of the voter suppression laws are just for that reason, suppress the results. If that happens then we no longer have a democracy, and the vision of our Republic created by our forefathers is dead. Our Republic, the United States of America will no longer exist. The big question to all you flag waving patriot is what is more important? The survival of our Democracy and Republic or you winning an election at all cost? If you answer is the winning of the election than you really are not a flag waving patriot. The problem is that I know people that winning the election is more important than our Republic and still want to promote the lie that they are a patriot.

We have had three Supreme Court Justices appointed to the Court by a President that admired Dictators more than Leaders elected by the people of their nation. We had a President that respected Putin and Kim Jong-un more that the world leader from our so called allies. I have seen over a dozen Presidents in my lifetime that this was the first time that I have ever seen a President turn its back on our allies in favor of Dictators. I have read articles that he was envious that he did not have the power to kill opponents like Putin or Jong-un did. I can’t fathom any President wanting that power. That is not a President that believes in our Republic and neither are his supporters. When you are chanting lock the opponent up during a political campaign you have now turned our politics into something out of a third world country not a democracy that is the pillar of freedom. Can we expect a Supreme Court who has been appointed by a want to-be dictator to truly protect our democracy? That is my biggest fear and so far from what I have seen from this court is a group of justices that are not willing to protect the will of the people. When our highest court becomes a tool for the oppressor our country is in for a very bad hair day. We have Justices like Clarence Thomas that do not believe in our Democracy or our Republic. Combine him with the three appointed by Trump and we have a mess.

I always thought that our Republic was very resilient that could endure a lot of outside pressure to survive. I never thought it would be from our own people pretending to be patriots that would want to destroy what so many had built. As we are trying to get one symbol of hate, the Confederate flag go away they try and turn our own American Flag into a symbol of hate.  Now every time I see an American flag I wonder if it is flying for our country or flying in support of White Supremacy. Is it flying for all Americans or for just white Americans? Is it flying for both Democrats and Republicans or just Republicans because Democrats are enemies of the people? As long as the United States stays divided there will be people that turn our flag into a symbol of hate. When you see people carrying our great flags in marches along with Confederate Flags and Nazi Flags they are turning our flag into a symbol of hate.

I really love America and I want to see us continue to be pillar of democracy around the world. For that to happen we don’t want to have “America First” we want to have “Americans First”. The people. A government by the people, of the people, for the people. Not just the 1% but also for the other 99 percent. Not just for white people but for all people no matter the race, color, creed or sexual orientation. America must stand for all Americans. United we stand and divided we will fall. Our Forefathers knew that.

On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
It is Easter again. I walked away from the church years ago, in fact, a long time ago. Why? I just couldn't understand what the Bible said, and what society was becoming, and how they interacted with each other. I saw the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer, and I could no longer reconcile how this fit the teachings of the Gospel. The moment that reminded me why I walked away wasn’t a sermon or a scandal. It was watching a politician, a man who openly admits he doesn’t read the Bible much, argue with the Pope about Jesus as if he were the expert in the room. One man has spent his entire life studying Scripture. The other can’t even quote Scripture. Yet millions of Christians lined up behind the politician anyway. In fact, they have even compared him to Jesus. That was the moment I realized I hadn’t walked away from Jesus. I was walking away from what had been done to him, not by his crucifixion 2000 years ago, but by how we crucify him almost daily today. Whe...
