Now let’s continue examining how the “Radical Left” is destroying America like Marjorie Taylor Greene says they are. Of course she is not the only Republican to say that but she always likes to make headlines talking about the radical left like they are some monster devouring our children. Of course who she really is talking about is your neighbor that just may voted Democratic.

The “Radical Left” and the “Right” have very different views when it comes to the environment. I will have to say that the study of the environment is part of the study of science. The people that study the environment are called scientist. They analyze many years of climate data. They go to places like Greenland and Antarctica and drill core samples in the ice so they can track the climate back many years. They come up with all this data and come to the conclusion that the climate is warming at a faster rate and more than likely it is being caused by the carbon emissions that we are dumping into the environment by the burning of fossil fuel. The “left” wants us to curb the use of fossil fuel which the scientists say we have to do to slow down global warming. The “right” says that the science in not conclusive when almost 100 percent of climate scientist say that it is real. The “Right” says that this will hurt the economy. The bottom line is what is the future of our grandchildren going to be? Science is not a radical thing. Without science we would not have many of the conveniences that we have today, so numerous I will not even try to mention them all. Science has saved many lives and will continue to try and save many more lives. Heck, science saved the Governor of Florida’s wife when she recently had a health issue.  When they talk about climate change they are trying to save the lives of future generations.  I can write a whole posting just on the environment and probably will.

Next we have voter ID. Of course the left and the right really differ on this subject too. The first time I voted all I brought to the polls to register was a gas bill proving I lived where I lived. I registered right there at the polls and then voted. The next time I voted I went to the polls and they checked my name off a list and I voted. That was over 40 years ago and there was never a problem. Now, we all need an ID to vote because the Republicans do not trust that the American public will do the right thing. The Republicans think that everyone is a cheater and we have to prove that we are not. You could almost call it a case of being guilty until proven innocent. There was no proof of voter fraud so this is mainly a made up issue. Of course it is not only the ID, they want a certain ID. In Wisconsin where I came from before I moved to Florida you could only get your voter ID from the Department of Motor Vehicles which of course was not centrally located for those in the inner city. It was just another hoop that the poor had to jump through. You can say that is not a fair statement but I will then ask you why did they not make a site more centrally located to make it easier on the poor.  Along with this voter ID they also restrict the number of polling places so in some cases you have to stand in line for 8 hrs. They also try to restrict voting by mail and the number of drop off boxes. In reality what they are doing is making it harder for some people to vote. That was the intention of the so called voter ID laws all along. You make it hard for people to vote then they just won’t vote. In today’s computer age we should be able to make it easier for people to vote not harder. No person should have to wait 8 hrs in line to vote. No person should have to what 1 hour in line to vote. Most of us should not even have to leave our homes to vote. I should be able to log onto a secure site and vote. Why are these things not happening? I think that is because of voter suppression. There are people in our government that do not want everyone involved in our election process. Wanting people voting should not be branded a radical anything. It should be something that both the right and the left should be encouraging but it seems that the “left” is alone in this and the “right” just wants the power and don’t care how they get it. By the way, voter suppression and racism has gone hand in hand in this country throughout its history.

When I was growing up people would say that there was not that much difference between the two parties and I think they were right. Today it seems like there is a huge difference. My last three postings have discussed that. I have stated before that the country has really moved more right than anything else so maybe we should be talking about the “Radical Right” and not the “Radical Left”. People that voted Republican 40 years ago now look like liberals. That is what drove me away from the Republican Party. They went so far right they no longer represent the dream that should be America. The hate that is being spread, the lies that are being spread, and the violence that is being threatened, these things didn’t happen 40 years ago from Republicans. Violence now seems to be part if the Republican Party platform. Mathew Cawthorn has stated such and you have other Republicans in Congress parading around with guns like they are members of some Taliban and not a political party. After you win an election whoever is in power should be looking for the good of the whole nation and not just part of the nation. Do Republicans do that? The so called “Radical Left” does.

Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
The hidden tax. Tariffs cause a hidden tax that never really goes away. I hope that Americans are tired of being told fairy tales about why everything costs more. Our elected officials point fingers. Corporations blame supply chains. Commentators blame inflation. The truth is much simpler and infuriating: tariffs are a tax on ordinary people, and the pain does not stop when the policy ends. It sticks. It lingers. It rarely delivers what we were promised. This is the mess we are in now because of the tariffs imposed by the current administration. Tariffs are sold as strength, as toughness – a way to punish governments and to bring back manufacturing jobs. That pitch works on conservatives who want control, moderates who want fairness, progressives who want domestic industry, and politicians trying to get elected. It is a message built to unite. The policy itself does the opposite. It drains the wallets of the very people that it claims to protect. Here is how it actually works. ...
When I was young, I was told that “Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll” was going to ruin the country. What I am seeing today is that “Sex, Politicians, and Espionage” is actually what is ruining the country and our democracy. Just think about it. When sex, secrecy, and political power get mixed together, every intelligence service in the world pays attention. The Epstein files aren’t just about a criminal and the rich people that he surrounded himself with. They show how sexual exploitation creates the kind of vulnerabilities foreign governments like Russia dream of. The most uncomfortable part of that truth is that other countries, such as Great Britain, are taking that threat more seriously than we are. Jeffrey Epstein didn’t just commit crimes. He built a system. He targeted vulnerable girls, groomed them, controlled them, and used them to gain access to powerful men. That abuse wasn’t just immoral; it gave him power and leverage. Victims were scared, ashamed, and often silenced. P...
