Ok that debate is over. Trump knew and helped plan January 6th.  He officially wanted to end our Constitutional Government that he had sworn to defend and protect. He wanted harm to come to the Vice President of the United States. He was ok with “Hang Mike Pence”. Violence is now officially part of the Republican Parties Platform. After all the support for the “Big Lie” the entire Republican Party is responsible for where we are at today. In the aftermath of January 6th the few Republicans that did stand up to the Trump and the “Big Lie” were basically drummed out of the party. To be a good Republican you had to support the “Big Lie”. If not you were called a RINO “Republican In Name Only”. Even after all that has come out about the “Big Lie” people running in Republican Primaries are fighting over being endorsed by Trump. It was a major blow for Rebecca Kleefisch who is running for the Republican nomminie for Govenor of Wisconsin to not be endorsed by Trump. Whether you are willing to admit it or not, if you are voting for a Republican you are voting for people that support Trump and Trump supported the end of our democracy. Do you really want to vote for the end of our Democracy? More and more I believe that is what is at stake.

The testimony that the World heard on June 28th about the January 6th insurrection paints a very chilling picture on how far the Trump Administration was going to go to bring down our democracy. Yes, they were trying to bring down our democracy. I don’t think we will really know the extent that of how bad things really got until the DOJ begins arresting people and that does not appear very likely to me. For two hours we watch the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson the assistant to Mark Meadows, Trump’s Chief of Staff. The account that she gave of that day was one that the Republican Party had been trying to suppress. Our Capitol being attacked by a mob that was sent by the outgoing President of the United States Donald Trump. You can try and spin another way but that just would not be the truth. I am not going to rehash all of the two hours of her testimony but in a nutshell almost the entire Republican Party has been lying to us trying to cover-up an attempted coup. The Republicans that have wanted to search for the truth have basically been drummed out of the Republican Party. Cassidy Hutchinson is a brave young lady and that will be how the world will see her. Of course now you will see the Republican party go in attack mode and try to discredit this brave woman. The only thing that she is guilty of is standing up for her Country. It would have been much easier to keep her mouth shut but that is not what brave people do.

This is scary stuff. What is going to happen to the future of the United States? Too many of the voters in our nation still support the Party that wants to see our Republic, as our fathers knew it, end. Too many voters are not even paying attention to the hearings. Too many voters do not care what the truth is. My father always voted Republican and at first so did I. The transformation of the Republican Party of one that my father voted for and the one that I left in the 1990s was very different. My father’s party was still the party of Lincoln with leaders like Eisenhower. The party I left was more like the party of Jefferson Davis led by the likes of Newt Gingrich. Yes, even in the 1990 you could feel the Republicans beginning to embrace racism in my opinion. Now if you try to point out racism you are accused of spreading Critical Race Theory. Most of the time when a person in talking about racism today they are talking facts not theory. People just scream Critical Race Theory to hide the truth about Racism in our past and Racism still occurring today. Now Mr. “Let’s All Run To Cancun” Ted Cruz called Samuel L Jackson a bigot because of Jackson’s criticism of Clarence Thomas. The Bigot and Hippocrates here are Ted Cruz and his cohorts. A Black man voices his opinion of a Black Supreme Court Justices ruling on the suppression of women and minority and he is a bigot. Ted Cruz and says anything he wants about Antifa and Black Live Matters but that’s ok. Sorry I will not give the bigot Ted Cruz a pass on that one.

 I could see the World moving forward but it is like we were not moving with them. I could see that technology was going to make it easier to communicate with everyone but you could also see that unchecked the lies and propaganda that could be spread were going to be a real problem. We only had email and chat room back in the 90s but you could see the potential. The fact that now political parties have embraced technology to lie and manipulate the masses is really scary. Free speech used to be for the Press so that the truth was not suppressed and hid from the public. Free speech was so you could criticize the Government. Today Free Speech seems to be so you can lie to the public by using social media and not be accountable to the press. I know that this may sound outlandish but I think that all politicians should be kicked off of social media. Not being able to hide from the people and the media is not a good thing for American politics or for our government and that is what social media does.  They need to be answerable to the people and the press. Lying should not be something that is protected by free speech and if they were made to answer the tough questions just maybe we would have less lying.

I have heard people say that they vote for a party because of a certain issue. Today I think that there is only one issue. Do you want the United States to survive or not. If all you care about is taxes and that is why you will continue to vote for the Party of Trump then you have put low taxes in front of the survival of our Democracy. If you vote only for your religious beliefs then you have already decided that you do not want our democracy to survive because it is a fact the religion suppresses freedom not enhances it. How important is the United States of America to you. I will guarantee you that it was not very important to any Trump supporter on January 6th. The lying and the misinformation are only meant to weaken our nation. Think about it. Who benefits from a weakened America? That is not a tough question and I know you can figure it out.

This is my continued search on whether Trump has the Character to be President. A person I know stated “His character matters bc it is in the character I believe he has the leadership, knowledge, wisdom, experience, compassion, integrity that will lead us on the path towards a more safe, secure, healthy, prosperous, free world than the direction we are headed.” My last blog looked at his character as integrity from a legal standpoint before he even was elected President. From a legal standpoint there is no way I would have thought he had the integrity to be President. Now I will look at some of his Moral Integrity and Compassion that should be there from the man that sits in the White House.  I have to say something about Donald Trump, he sure is a believer in the institution of marriage.   It is a new game but it is still being played just like the old one. Biden has chosen not to run for a 2 nd term and it looks like Kamala Harris will get the Democratic nomination. This drastically changes what the election will look like. Instead of two old white guys facing one another we will have a woman that is 19 years younger than the Republican nominee Donald Trump. Donald Trump went from saying Biden was too old and senile even though he was only three years younger than Biden to the old guy that appears to be too old and senile. Since Biden’s debate performance he had been under a considerable amount of pressure to drop out of the race. I have admitted in a past post when Biden came on stage he looked frail and in the beginning of the debate Trump’s tactics really confused Biden.
