On Twitter I made a statement that on January 6th a group of people tried to overthrow a branch of our Government.  I got a reply countering my original comment,  that I really couldn’t believe a group tried to overthrow a branch of our Government. I commented backed that’s “ok, let’s say a group of terrorist tried to overthrow a branch of our Government.” Then, the comment that I got back was that he had wished that they had succeeded. There really are people within America that hate America. There really are people that want to see our Democratic Republic to fail. That is what I find so disturbing. What do they want to replace our Republic with? What about our Constitution? Are they going to write another one? Do they think it will really make us stronger?  I will guarantee you it will not.

Today I watched the 2nd day of the hearings of the events leading up to January 6th. The evidence that has been presented is what you can say is very compelling. They talked about two election teams at the White House the night of the election. One was “team normal” that knew the election was not going well for Trump especially after Arizona was called for Biden. “Team normal” was his actually campaign team. They had advised the President that he should be cautious in his statements just saying that votes were still being counted. The other was what was nicknamed “Team Wack Job”. That team appeared to be headed that night by an intoxicated Rudy Giuliani per the testimony. He advised Trump to declare victory even though the votes were still being counted. You know already who Trump listened to, “Team Wack Job”. He went on television at 2am and declared victory and insinuated that they should just stop counting votes. That one speech that he gave is probably the biggest lie that he told and the one that directly caused January 6th. Because he claimed victory now he could claim the election was stolen. When Trump made that statement it appears he knew that all votes were not counted and he probably knew he was going to lose. The Fox News election analyst that called Arizona for Biden first was right. He stated that after Arizona Trump had no chance to win the election. Of course even though he was right and made Fox News scoop the other networks he was fired by Fox News.

White House attorney Eric Herchmann stated that what Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell were stating about election fraud was “Nuts”. That’s right “Nuts”. There probably not a better way to describe it. Bill Barr called it BS as well as “idiotic”, “bogus and silly”, “disturbing”, and “complete nonsense”. Bill Barr did, at Trump’s insistence, investigate if there was any voter fraud while the process was going on which was against DOJ policy. His team found none. Bar called Trump It seems that the President was told over and over again that the allegations were not true but he marched on with the lie. It looks like Trump’s own inner circle was advising him that he lost. That is why he had to turn to “Team Wack Job”. What a great name for Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell “Team Wack Job”. The real losers are the Republican Party members that “Team Wack Job” conned. I have to admit that the con job paid off well for Trump. In the aftermath he raised 250 million dollars for a legal defense found that did not actually exist. That could be wire fraud. Yup, because of the January 6th investigation they may have uncovered another crime committed by Trump and Company.

Al Schmidt, the Republican City Commissioner for Philadelphia where Trump said that there was wide spread voter fraud said that he investigate and found none. For that he and his family were threatened. Trump claimed that they found 8000 dead voters in Philadelphia and there was none. A man does his job and does it right but is threatened because he did not find the results that Trump and his supporters wanted. Trump claimed he never had his day in court. As a matter of fact he filed 61 lawsuits and lost 60. Yes, Trump had his day in court but like the election because he didn’t get the results he wanted he continued on with the lie. Even Trump appointed Judges said that there was no merit to Trump’s lawsuits. He simply did not have the evidence. That didn’t matter to Trump. He just kept marching on with his big lie.

I have read that 71 percent of Republicans believed that Trump won the election. I know that sounds like a gigantic number but you have to remember that about only a third of the electorate are Republicans bit still that means that at least about 20 percent of the electorate believed that Trump won which is still a gigantic number.  I think that number can be traced back to the fact on election night when Trump declared victory even though he hadn’t won anything. In too many of his supporter’s minds you now would have to prove that Trump didn’t win instead of Trump having to prove his Big Lie. Trump hasn’t proven anything but the lie continues and our country gets weaker. That is what has made that lie so effective.

There’s a simple way to judge a country: look at whose lives it protects, and whose lives it’s willing to forget. For years now, we’ve heard the phrase “All Lives Matter.” It sounds fair. It sounds equal. It sounds like common sense. But a country doesn’t reveal its values through slogans. It reveals them through actions, through the lives it defends, the lives it ignores, and the lives it quietly pushes out of sight. And lately, America has been doing a whole lot of looking away. When Black Americans said they were being killed during traffic stops and routine encounters, the response from many leaders wasn’t concern; it was irritation. Instead of saying, “Let’s fix the problem so fewer people die,” we heard “Blue Lives Matter,” “Stop resisting,” and “BLM is a terrorist group.” A man died in a chokehold on camera. We all saw, from the beginning to the end. It was like a modern-day lynching. Millions marched peacefully. The answer from those in power was “law and order,” and “...
On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
