The Bill of Rights, what in the hell are they? I get so confused are times. I thought they were there for our guaranteed freedom. Now freedom means something to different to many people. The words that used to define freedom in America used to be life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those words in their own right will mean something different to many people. I am amazed today how our rights are being diminished by people that say, our rights are being diminished. I was born in the early 50s so I have seen a lot of things change over the last 60 plus years. Growing up I never saw an assault rifle and knew no one that even wanted one. We always had a gun in the house but the thought of having a gun that looks like an M16 was just unthinkable. The separation of church and state was a big deal. I never heard a preacher preach about one political party or another. Children were protected and you never were afraid when you saw a policeman. Times have changed.

The Supreme Court has now spoken. Women are really second class citizens. They do not deserve to be paid as much as men. They can be sexually assaulted by men and have to carry that burden of that sexual assault. Why, because the Supreme Court, I guess, does not think that the Bill of Rights applies to women. The right to privacy between you and your doctor is gone. The right to control your own body is gone. Actually the right to control your own life is now at least partially gone. The freedom for you to believe something other than what the church thinks you should believe is gone. The issue has never been about abortion. The issue has always been about freedom and suppression. Pay, Abortion, how you worship and similar issues that the conservatives use to suppress your freedom. I always post that Freedom is just a hollow word as long as women and minorities are being suppressed. Ted Cruz may cross a stage and yell freedom but that word has absolutely no meaning. He and many like him scream that word just for votes not because they believe in your freedom. I posted yesterday on Twitter that 55 percent of White Women voted for Trump. That is a huge number. The person answered me back that the problem was abusive men and women not wanting to endure the abuse. What she was saying that it is really men’s fault that women voted for Trump because they are afraid of the male abuse. Men have to change for this to be fixed. I am sorry but I find that a little bit hard to swallow. I understand the abusive men problem but until the victims of that abuse stand up nothing will change. If you are so afraid of your husband that you feel that you have to vote for the abuser then do yourself a favor and don’t vote. Don’t keep on voting for the group that will keep on suppressing you.

Now people will say that what the Supreme Court did was just throw it down to the States where it should be in the first place. Funny but the 2nd amendment was not thrown back to the States to decide. The 2nd amendment exists so the States can form a Militia and the 2nd amendment actually states that as its purpose. The Supreme Court just struck down a New York gun law that has been on the books for 100 years. This group of six so called conservative judges feels that they are just so much smarter than all the justices were before them. I really think that more is going on here than the interpretation of the law and our Constitution. I am beginning to think that this has nothing to do with the Constitution. I have also written that when the Supreme Court becomes the tool of the oppressor than this country will have a very bad hair day. Well right now our hair is a mess. We hear that they are trying to take our guns away when the number of guns has probably tripled in my lifetime. That is not trying to take guns away. People are trying to create panic to sell more guns and create more violence that ensures they sell more guns.

Throwing things back to the State where voter suppression is running rampant does not solve a thing. The Supreme Court has also done nothing to protect people’s right to vote. Gerrymandering is one of the worse forms of voter suppression. By the redrawing of districts it is meant to ensure that the minority wins the majority of the seats in the State Legislatures and in Congress. When the challenge to Gerrymandering was brought before the Supreme Court and they would not even hear the case which in reality puts their stamp of approval on voter suppression. It is a case for Congress and the States for fixing but when Gerrymandering creates minority rule how can the States or Congress fix it? I would think that would be the purpose of the Supreme Court is to ensure the playing field is fair for the American people.

Freedom of Religion does not exist without the Constitution and the Bill of Rights but the Constitution and the Bill of Rights does not exist because of religion. Our Constitution can exist just fine without any church. In fact it would probably function even better. Religion takes freedoms away not enhances them. Freedom of Choice and Freedom of Expression are just a couple of freedoms that all Religions take away. To involve our courts into religious arguments that suppress an individual’s freedom is something that the Supreme Court should never allow. By that fashion there should never be conservative judges or liberal judges. In fact, I find this conservative and liberal argument as one that does not make sense. What I see is what we have is anybody that disagrees with the so called conservatives are labeled liberal. I grew up in the 50s and 60s and still think about what I was taught back then. I grew up in a conservative household that now would be considered liberal. We knew what the separation of church and state was and separation of church and state was important. I remember the concern of when we had our first Catholic President and people were afraid that he would be more loyal to the Pope than the Constitution. Yes our freedoms are being diminished but it is the church and the conservatives that are diminishing them. My how times have changed.

This is my continued search on whether Trump has the Character to be President. A person I know stated “His character matters bc it is in the character I believe he has the leadership, knowledge, wisdom, experience, compassion, integrity that will lead us on the path towards a more safe, secure, healthy, prosperous, free world than the direction we are headed.” My last blog looked at his character as integrity from a legal standpoint before he even was elected President. From a legal standpoint there is no way I would have thought he had the integrity to be President.   It is a new game but it is still being played just like the old one. Biden has chosen not to run for a 2 nd term and it looks like Kamala Harris will get the Democratic nomination. This drastically changes what the election will look like. Instead of two old white guys facing one another we will have a woman that is 19 years younger than the Republican nominee Donald Trump. Donald Trump went from saying Biden was too old and senile even though he was only three years younger than Biden to the old guy that appears to be too old and senile. Since Biden’s debate performance he had been under a considerable amount of pressure to drop out of the race. I have admitted in a past post when Biden came on stage he looked frail and in the beginning of the debate Trump’s tactics really confused Biden.
