This will be my Thursday June 9th posting and June 9th will be the first day of the open Congressional Hearings of the January 6th insurrection. Many people have called that day many things. There has been some outright lying when it came to January 6th. Representative Andrew Clyde said after viewing footage it looked like just a bunch of tourist. Representative Clyde can be viewed helping to build a barricade to keep those so called tourists out of the House Chamber. The last time we had tourists like that in the Capitol was the British during the War of 1812.  These so called tourists were more like a lynch mob storming the jail. Representative Clyde called the insurrection a bald face lie. I am sorry but the bald face lie in my opinion came out of Representative Clyde’s mouth. The Chamber was not breached he claimed but yet a person died trying to breach the Chamber. There is video of him fearing for his life, but what the hell, we are just suppose to believe what comes out of his mouth the next day than what we saw with our own eyes.

That is a problem with today’s technology. Everything survives in digital form, all the truths and all the lies. Sometimes they try to make it hard to distinguish between the two and that is what the liars are counting on. Me? I would rather believe my eyes. I live in a small community in Southwest Florida and a group of us would almost every day meets and socialize at the pool.  January 6th 2021 was a typical beautiful day in Southwest Florida so of course we were at the pool enjoying the great weather. A friend of mine in our little pool group got a phone call from his daughter that a mob was trying the breach the Capitol. Everyone immediately went home to turn on the news. I could not believe my eyes. Never in my lifetime did I ever think I would see people attacking our Capitol. I kept wondering when is the National Guard going to show up. Our Democracy was under attack and the National Guard was nowhere in sight. I watched for what seemed like hours and there was no rapid response from our Government. Many could have died and a branch of our government could have been destroyed.   There was no rapid response from the Executive Branch of our government, the branch that would have been in charge of the rapid response. They had to be seeing what I was seeing. Even Fox News was covering it. Why was there no rapid response? It really doesn’t take a rocket scientist. The Executive Branch of the government was part of the insurrection or at the very least they wanted it to be successful.

The goal of that mob was to put an unelected man in the White House. Trump lost the election. He Lost! There was no steal. There was no organized Democratic plot to steal the election. The Democrats have never been that organized. The Republicans on the other hand are that well organized and they have a few of rich handlers telling them what to do in my opinion. People yelling that the Democrats are the enemy of the people are not screaming that of any of the people I know. They are screaming it to sow discourse.

Twice Trump failed to win the popular vote. Are you telling me that over half of the voting public are the enemies of the people? If you are, you must be smoking something other than cigarettes or pot but whatever it is it is making you delusional. Could it be hate? Could it be racism? What is driving all the lies? Those are the questions that I would like answer but I know they are not going to be. What I would like to hear; the real reason to hatred and racism that I feel is one of the driving forces. I would like to hear about how the powers with money, domestic and abroad, are using that hatred and fear to try and bring down our Democratic Republic. I would like to know what happened to the pledge allegiance to the Flag and the Republic that it stands for that so many people have forsaken for power and money.

Those pictures of Representative Clyde barricading the door to the Chamber that the insurrectionists are trying to break into will survives for future historians to study a thousand years from now if the human race survives that long. So will also Clyde suggesting that they look like tourist. Just think of how the liars  and tyrants from a thousand of years ago are written about and you can imagine how they will be writing a thousand years in the future. The name Benedict Arnold isn’t just a name anymore it is also the name of someone that is a traitor. Having a Caesar complex is not  talking about Julius Caesar but describing a person the wants to be on all powerful tyrant. How will the people that talk about history, even just a hundred years from now, going to be talked about this period? “Going Trump” may mean leading a failed insurrection. “Going Trump” may mean trying to start a mutiny. “Going Cruz” could mean running away when you were needed. “Going Mitch” could mean taking the money and run.

On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
The hidden tax. Tariffs cause a hidden tax that never really goes away. I hope that Americans are tired of being told fairy tales about why everything costs more. Our elected officials point fingers. Corporations blame supply chains. Commentators blame inflation. The truth is much simpler and infuriating: tariffs are a tax on ordinary people, and the pain does not stop when the policy ends. It sticks. It lingers. It rarely delivers what we were promised. This is the mess we are in now because of the tariffs imposed by the current administration. Tariffs are sold as strength, as toughness – a way to punish governments and to bring back manufacturing jobs. That pitch works on conservatives who want control, moderates who want fairness, progressives who want domestic industry, and politicians trying to get elected. It is a message built to unite. The policy itself does the opposite. It drains the wallets of the very people that it claims to protect. Here is how it actually works. ...
