Our courtrooms should be about the law. It is in our courtrooms that a person should be tried and not in the paper or on TV talk shows. The courtroom for public opinion is not a real courtroom and many times is just being fed smokescreens and lies that are meant to hide the truth. Public Opinion may count at the ballot box but it doesn’t count in a court of law. Facts that are presented to a jury are what is important. What the public thinks is not fact. We have always had our Court of Public Opinion but with today’s “Social Media” it is just more amplified. It is what makes it harder to search for the truth if that is what you are searching for. Too many times people want to spread the lies in hopes that they don’t search for the truth.

Never before in my lifetime have I seen defendants like Trump, Giuliani, and others using their social media accounts thinking that they can influence the courts. It is one thing to use social media to try and influence the public but it is another thing trying to use social media to influence and try to intimidate our judicial system. Now a defendant like Trump sits in court and does not testify, and then gets on his Truth Social account and says how corrupt the whole thing is. He will call court officials names and even has tried to intimidate court clerks. Trump claims he didn’t do anything wrong on Truth Social but he won’t testify under oath when he has a chance to tell what he says is the Truth. He talks real big with his keyboard but not so much with his actions. He is like a speeder that gets caught and then says that the police are just out to get him. If it was me you would say “Just don’t speed and you won’t get a ticket” but with Trump the system is just out to “get him”. With Trump, it is “the system” that is corrupt not Trump. It is the same system that Republicans use to promote law and order on the rest of us but just not on themselves.

Fani Willis is now being called to not prosecute a Trump co-conspirator because they claims she had an alleged affair with Nathan Wade a special prosecutor in her office. What does that have to do about whether these people that were charged by a grand jury can’t be prosecuted? It really has nothing to do with it but what the hell, let’s throw up some more smoke screens. These charges of an affair are alleged meaning that they have not been proven or admitted to. Even if they are true what does that have to do about the charges of election tampering and racketeering? Trump has been married three times and cheated on all three of his wives. Trump was still declared eligible to hold office by the voters. In fact, we were told that Trump’s personal life was none of our business. We have been told that Trump paying hush money to a porn star was none of the public’s business. We were told that by the very people that told us Bill Clinton’s personal life was their business. If Fani Willis did have an affair with a special prosecutor hired by her office she probably did not break the law. If she did have an affair what she did was use is poor judgment. Do I think that it is the public’s right to know? Yes, I do think it is the public’s right to know because I think that it is the public’s right to know the character of the people that we are electing of office. That does not mean that they are not qualified to do the job that they were elected to. What it could mean that they are not the type of people that you would have voted for in the first place.

Trump has been found guilty in a civil court of Sexual Assault and fined 5 million dollars by that court for libel. I kind of interpret that as the jury thought that Trump was guilty of sexual assault and then lied about it to smear the victim. That is in an actual court. After that the former President won the Iowa
Caucus. That tells me that the members of the Republican Party don’t care that Trump sexually assaulted someone and, then verbally maligned the victim. That tells me the moral integrity of the Iowa Republican voter. How can there be a voter in Iowa that is outraged about Fani Willis. In fact, any one that supports Trump after that jury verdict should never be outraged about Fani Willis even if the allegations are true. Four Democrats and five Republicans have resigned or did not seek reelection because of Sexual Misconduct so it is something that the public and the voters care about except we are not suppose to care about it when it comes to Trump? Why has the biggest one of them all get a pass? The public does have a right to know the transgression of our elected and public officials all of them. The fact that Trump gets a pass and Fani Willis isn’t supposed to get one is just ridiculous.

Throughout history people of power have been assaulting or holding their power over the people that are subordinate to them. It is still going on today. We have to start holding people in power to a higher standard. One of my blogs last week was about morals. Maybe I should repost it. I still think that morals matter. Two consenting adults do have the right to privacy up to a point. Using bad judgment and breaking the law are two different things. A Grand Jury would not find Fani Willis of possibly breaking the law. Multiple Grand Juries have found that charges should be issued against Trump. There is a huge difference between using poor judgment and breaking the law.

  1. Trump thinks he’s clever by using the court of public opinion by issuing his blatant allegations against his prosecutors in and outside the courts. The judge’s decision to gag him is the right decision. Hopefully Trump gets punished at the fullest extent of the law.

Something I have written many times on social media is that when our Justice Department becomes a tool of the oppressor, we are losing our Democracy. Dictators have always used the Justice Department to oppress the people. Germany had its Gestapo and the SS, which were used to kill millions. Stalin had his NKVD, which would later become the KGB, that he used to kill millions and consolidate his power. China has its Chenguang, which is known for its violent methods. That is how things work in a country that is run by a dictator.   They use their personal Justice Departments to suppress and eliminate threats to their power. Is that now what is happening in this country? I swear, Trump wants to be just like the Communist and Fascist dictators. Trump seems to want to use our Justice Department more as his personal goon squad than a department that serves the people. He is starting with ICE. ICE is an agency that was formed after 9/11 and put under the Department of Homeland Se...
We are a fascist state when we have ICE agents not in uniforms and hiding their faces behind masks. That is right. We have a law enforcement agency that is running around more like the Gestapo of Nazi Germany than what we are supposed to have and what is valued in America. We are sending not only undocumented immigrants but also asylum seekers and foreigners on student visas to detention camps here and on foreign soil. They are just being snatched off the streets with no due process. This is not the America I grew up in. This is nowhere to be found in the religion I learned and practiced in my youth. This is like fascism. Every day, we seem to hear the term “Extreme Left Judges.” It doesn’t matter whether it is a judge appointed by a Republican president or a Democratic president. If that judge disagrees with any of Trump's executive orders, he or she is being branded as a “Radical Judge”. These so-called “Rogue Judges” are being attacked by much of the Republican Party besides...
Every elected official swears an oath to defend the Constitution. Not a party. Not a President, nor any individual. Not a social media following. They swear an oath to the Constitution. They take these oaths of their own free will. No one pointed a gun at their head to seek the office that requires obedience not to a leader but to a document that is our Constitution. What I wonder all the time is how someone can take that oath and then so easily break it. The saddest thing is that it is just all too common. So common that many people don’t notice, and so common that many people don’t care. Here are some very common things that elected officials have done that are actually a violation of their oath. Trying to overturn an election. Pressuring state officials to change election results. Voting to throw out certified votes without evidence. Lying to the public about things they know are not true and using their office to help themselves instead of the country. You don’t need a law de...
