Let the games begin. We can say now, with certainty, that the next presidential election will be a repeat of 2020. Not exactly what I wanted but here we go again. It is also the time where I watch a lot of the Disney Channel and Netflix so I can avoid all the commercials that just plain lie to the American people. I just hate election season. If someone really wanted to make America Great Again they would shorten the election season. It is almost like the election season never ends. I find it just exhausting. I will continue to read my news and just ignore all those commercials that are meant to divide the nation. Could it be that we are constantly in an election cycle that we wind up not tackling the most important issues.

We have many issues that I feel are the most important ones. The border is going to be the one that gets the most attention but we also have many other pressing issues. I think healthcare should be a big issue along with prescription drugs. Housing and a livable wage should be an issue. Drug abuse and  what can be done to eliminate it should always be high on the list. Honest conversations about the deficit and what actually causes it. Guns and mental health are also two very important issues to me. Another issue that will probably not be a campaign issue is how do we stop the lying and misinformation in the News Media. Why it won’t get the attention that it deserves is because our 24 hr news channels control the news and will not even allow that to be an issue.

The biggest issue that will be talked about especially on Social Media is the battle between Democracy and Fascism. Many will call it the battle between Democracy and Autocracy. I call it Fascism because it is meant for the suppression of the people. Are we to stay a Democracy that empowers the people or are we going to be a Country that is run by Billionaires?  Should money be the power or should the people hold that power. Before our Revolution we were part of a Government that the people with the money held the power. The people of the colonies had no real say in what England decided. That is what I think many Republicans want to bring back. Our Forefathers wrote a Constitution that gave the power to the people. We had checks and balances between the branches of government to no single branch would become too powerful. Today that concept is slowly slipping away. Today it seems greed is what has taken its place. Too many of our elected officials are being bought and paid for by not only rich American Billionaires but by foreign governments like Russia and Saudi Arabia. Since the Supreme Court’s decision on what is known as “Citizens United” money has been pouring into Washington. Every politician talks about draining the swamp but most of them are the ones that survive because they are one of that swamps and become Millionaires themselves. We have a system that Billionaires, foreign and domestic, create millionaire politicians that are beholding to them. Billionaires don’t give money without a return in their investment and many of our politicians are is an investment. Buying a Supreme Court Justice or two is just frosting on the cake.

We need to be looking toward the future and not the past. We can drill all we want but the price of gas will not come down to what we think it should. Supply chain issues and greed are what has caused inflation. As long as greed is a factor in a capitalist system you will not see the price come down. We have to be thinking about what type of future we are leaving behind for our grandchildren and great grandchildren. They are the ones that will be affected the most by what is decided with this election. We can vote for the very things that are destroying the environment or we can start moving forward with new technologies that spur more innovations as civilization moves forward. Will future generations enjoy the same freedoms or fewer freedoms that I have enjoyed or will they be even freer. Having a Universal Healthcare system would enhance our freedom. Being slaves to jobs, because of our need for healthcare does not enhance freedom. Is that in our future? Guns are changing the landscape of the country where policing it is going to be next to impossible in the near future. Guns will never make a free society freer. Guns will only bring chaos to an already free society. They will only suppress an already free society. Are we going to be a country that values the truth or are we going to be a country that suppresses the truth? Free speech was not created to protect the liars; it was created to protect the truth. Suppressing education and science is not protecting our children it is destroying the truth and handicapping them for a prosperous future.

The separation of Church and State is one of the most important issues that will not only affect the future of our children but it will also affect our standing in the World. Forcing ones religious beliefs on your neighbor will harm your relationship with your neighbor. Forcing your religious beliefs on the world will only lead to war and maybe the end of the human race. More people have died in the name of God than anything else. I don’t advocate the abolishment of religion but personal faith should not bring about the destruction of our Country and probably the future destruction of the world. I know that sounds a little bit over the top but just look at history.

This is an important election. It may actually be a turning point for our place in the world. I have more years behind me than a head of me but I hope that I am working for a future that is safe and prosperous for the future generations that will follow me.

  1. Simple answer. Stop helping Republicans get elected. The most successful human rights interests have been addressed & won by a united Democratic Govt. Fact.
It's been a give/take case of political whiplash every time our Fed, State & Local elections are handed to the Right by 3rd Parties hired & funded by those who aren't in power, but seek to be.
The Republican Party has always been the party of the wealthy. Personal & Corporate. If you try want a Nation of, by & for the people then Stop helping Republicans get elected.
Vet thode pishing 3rd Parties, they are owned as well, regardless of the kum-ba-ya campaign message they script.
Its not that hard. Those 3rd party unknown names suddenly appearing with the answer to all the ills, all have a backstory that needs to be dug into.

Tommy Tuberville made a comment about Biden eating an ice cream cone in New York City. He posted on X that “Hope @JoeBiden enjoyed going out for ice cream in NYC while the rest of the city is afraid of crime and migrants”. If Senator Tuberville was really an informed and knowledgeable lawmaker he would know that Alabama, the State that he represents in the Senate, has a murder rate that is three times the rate of New York City. I wonder if this is a case of another Republican lying and giving misinformation in an attempt to weaken our nation or is he just a politician that doesn’t have a clue to the real problems that face the nation and the State he is suppose to represent. Maybe it would help if Tuberville actually lived in the State he is supposed to represent. If you believe the Washington Post he actually lives in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I have been to Santa Rosa Beach and I have to admit it is beautiful there but that should not be an excuse for not living in the State you r
If I was a parent of a handicapped or developmentally disabled child I would be very nervous right now. If I was a parent of a Gay or Tran’s child I would be very nervous. Why? I think that we have a person running for the office of President that thinks that it is ok to mock people with disabilities. President Biden is a stutterer and he has worked hard to overcome that disability. That should be something that should be an inspiration to not only people with disabilities but to the entire nation. He is a man that has risen above his stuttering to achieve remarkable things. By Trump mocking Biden because of his stuttering he is sending a message to the entire country it is ok to bully other people just because they are different or have a disability. Now Biden is a grown man that has had to endure bullying like that all his life and he has come out probably stronger because of it. Not everyone is as strong as Biden. Biden is not the first person that Trump has insulted because a h
Trump’s oath of office, his lawyers are saying that Trump never took an oath to support the Constitution. Why would his lawyers say this? The reason is because the Presidential oath of office does not have the word “Support” in it. The Presidential oath uses the words “Preserve, Protect, and Defend” the Constitution. Why would the Presidential oath not use the word support? Could it be that the President is held to a higher standard than just support the Constitution? I have read that is the reason why that the words “Preserve, Protect and Defend” are used is to show the greater responsibility the President has to the Constitution. I think Trump’s lawyers want us to believe that Trump had less of a responsibility to our Constitution because the word “Support” is not in his oath. I think just the opposite; he had a stronger responsibility and failed at that responsibility, badly. Maybe that is because he never read the Constitution of the United States. Trump’s lawyers also say Sect
