And the lies continue. I have heard it said that both sides lie to the American people. I used to believe that but not anymore. No time in our history have we been lied to more than we are being lied to by the Republican Party and by their candidate running for President, Donald Trump. With all the lies we have been told I can no longer trust anything that the Republicans say. 

Yesterday, Trump went to Georgia saying he was there to help. What he was there was a photo op. You don't show up to a disaster area in a suit and tie to help. Jimmy Carter would have been there with his work clothes and his gloves and would just start pitching in and not having an impromptu stage built so he can give a speech. When it comes to being a humanitarian Trump can't hold a candle to a person like Jimmy Carter but the Republicans will try and project him as such. Trump's presence was more of a distraction than anything else and he should have stayed away. In my opinion it took away available resources that could have been used to actually help people. During Trump's speech of course he lied and there is no more accurate way to put it. He said that Biden was not returning the Governor's calls which was not true. As if Governor Kemp didn't have enough to deal with now he has to deal with Trump's lie and state that the President had given him everything he had asked for. Trump said FEMA was not helping when FEMA was all over the place. The National Guard was too. This may just be one of the biggest natural disasters in the history of this nation and there's no time for Trump's politics of lies. It is counterproductive and accomplishes nothing. 

We have two months left in the Hurricane season. To hear Trump talk you would think it is almost over. He made a statement, who would have known we would have a Hurricane so late in the season. Any fifth grader would have known, because as I stated, we still have two months of the Hurricane season remaining. Helene also made landfall one day before the anniversary of Ian and hit Southwestern Florida September 28th just two years ago. Now we have Marjorie Taylor Green, you know the Jewish laser lady, is stating that Democrats can control the weather. Not the Federal Government but the Democrats control the weather so they can influence the election. She states that they are targeting Republicans. I would be willing to bet that in all of the states that were hit by Helene there is a large number of Democrats along with Republicans. I would be willing to bet there are a number of members of the Libertarian and the Green Party too. To say that Democrats are controlling the weather to target Republicans is stupid and inflammatory. It is just as stupid as when she said the Jewish Lasers from space were causing the wildfires. 

Now we have Trump saying Democrats are stealing the FEMA money and giving it to illegal aliens so they will vote Democratic. He said they are stealing the money just like someone is robbing a bank. I know that is a lie. The Governors have said that the Federal Government has given them everything that they asked for. 

Because these are lies, Trump doesn't offer a speck of truth. With the Republicans too many of their conversations just lead back to immigration. I will be honest with you, there have been so many lies about immigration I don't know what to believe. I have heard so many lies I don't know how big of a problem it is or if it is actually a real problem. That is what lying does to me. Trump's lies are meant to just spread more hate and that is one thing that I won't vote for. I won't vote for hate. 

I don't hear things that people say and just take it as fact. I research the problem and when I research immigration there is so much hate out there I don't know what to believe. I live in Florida, one of those states that is suppose to have a huge illegal immigration problem. Our problem was so serious that our Governor was flying them out to Cape Cod. The biggest problem with that is first DeSantis had to import them from Texas so he could fly them to Cape Cod, so you can understand why I am so confused. Living in Florida I don't see the problem that our Governor is talking about. In fact with the recovery that that is constantly happening in Florida our Governor should be putting out the help wanted sign. Recovery from a Natural Disaster takes many things but one of the most important things is manpower. 

Whether it is lying about Climate Change, Immigration, or FEMA it is the lies about people that cause the most damage. When Trump yelled "They are eating our pets". That brought back some memories of past immigrants in Wisconsin the Hmong. In the late 1970 many of the Hmong from Laos took refuge here in the United States. Some were put in Camp McCoy in central Wisconsin. In typical racist fashion there were reports of people missing their pets and it was suspected that the Hmong were eating them. Of course there were never any substantiated claims but the stories still spread. I remember as a kid I didn't want to go to a Chinese Restaurant because I was told that they served cat meat. We have always told stories about immigrants that weren't true but the stories spread anyways. For a Christian nation we sure don't act very Christian like.  

Yes, I am tired of all the lies especially the ones meant to hurt people. Trump will use those lies to justify his deportation of all the immigrants here legally or illegally. It won't matter to Trump and the Republicans as long as they can feed their supporters' hate.

  3. Definitely on point. And, exactly why I won’t vote for DJT, or any republican. Nothing to do with policy. The normalizing of bullying, hate, lies and divisiveness has to stop. It will take years to undo the damage done.

    2. I don't know if it's "one of those things that people say and just take for fact" or you trying to subtlety illustrate the point, but calling us a 'Christian Nation' is just false. We've never been a Christian Nation, our government was founded on secular principles, and at least 2 presidents went out of their way to state this, publicly, in both writings and a Congressionally approved treaty. The only "principles" these christofacist's follow are those of hate and division because they apparently lack the willpower to think for themselves. Trump stated it best during the Republican caucuses in February 2016: "I love the poorly educated!"

      I digress - we're in no way, shape or form a Christian nation. We have a fair percentage of people who claim that faith, but that's it, and the ones that say they're Christians the loudest are usually the worst examples of that faith you can possibly imagine.

This is my continued search on whether Trump has the Character to be President. A person I know stated “His character matters bc it is in the character I believe he has the leadership, knowledge, wisdom, experience, compassion, integrity that will lead us on the path towards a more safe, secure, healthy, prosperous, free world than the direction we are headed.” My last blog looked at his character as integrity from a legal standpoint before he even was elected President.
