The election is over, but the fight needs to go on. We need to start talking about the issues that we will be facing not only in our country but also in the entire world. To conquer those problems we first have to recognize that there is a problem. One of the biggest obstacles is our ability to separate the truth from the lies. You would think that would be an easy thing to do but this is what makes it so hard to solve today's problems. In today's world of alternate facts, the truth becomes very elusive. This is what I'm going to be concentrating on in the future and I hope there are people out there willing to help me. We have many issues that need to be tackled. There is Climate Change. There are shootings in our schools that take the lives of too many of our children. There is the drug violence on our streets. There is a growing homeless problem. There is the healthcare problem. I know there are many problems and, I'm going to continue to write about them.

Living in Florida we see all of these problems but I will start out with Climate Change. We have already had three hurricanes hit us this year: Dorthy, Helene, and Milton. We still have a few weeks to go in this year's Hurricane Season which runs from June 1st to November 30th. As I am writing a new system that will be named Sara is forming in the Caribbean may threaten Florida next week. Helene was such a powerful storm basically the entire Southeastern Section of the United States was affected in some way. Milton made landfall south of Tampa and then traversed across the entire into the Atlantic Ocean. These were huge storms that affected hundreds of thousands of people. The scars these storms created will, in some cases, take generations to heal.

DeSantis the Governor of Florida, for whatever reason, is not a believer in Climate Change. He says this is Florida and that Florida has always had Hurricanes. That is a true statement but that doesn't mean there is no such thing as Climate Change. You have to follow the science. What drives the weather engine are Solar Radiation, Convection Currents, Jet Streams, and Ocean Currents. A change in any one of these things will cause Climate Change. I am no scientist but it makes sense if you have a change in one you will have a change in all things that run the Weather Engine. We know that we have more Solar Radiation which will affect the other three things that drives our weather. Simple physics, "For every action, there will be an opposite but equal reaction". I have not heard a person argue that we don't have an increase in Solar Radiation. What is one of the side effects of Solar Radiation? Heat! The heating of our air and the heating of our oceans. I am no scientist but I can see that three of the engines that drive our weather have changed so you go back to simple Physics. There has to be a reaction to more Solar Radiation, warmer air, and warmer oceans. That reaction would be a change in weather patterns which would result in Climate Change.

Not only are our Hurricanes getting stronger but so are our Wildfires. Six out of the top ten Wildfires in U S history have happened in the last 24 years. East Coast, West Coast, and all of the land in-between are not immune to Wildfire. Millions of acres are destroyed and thousands of homes are destroyed every year. Thousands of lives are also taken every year. I don't think there is a State that is immune to wildfires but States like California, Texas, and Idaho lead the way. Climate Change does not start Wildfires. Many of the wildfires started by carelessness, human carelessness. What Climate Change has done is create the conditions that are perfect for these Wildfires. That would be droughts. Droughts not only make perfect conditions for fires but it also contributes to famine that plagues much of the world.

This year part of the Republican Party platform was fossil fuels. We already export more oil than import but they don't think that is enough. What I think it does is just make this country fall farther and farther behind the products and technology that would make oil obsolete. China is going to be building electric cars in Mexico. Tariffs may make it so they won't be sold here but the Northern Hemisphere is a big place and China may just end up controlling much of the Northern Hemisphere market and that will not be a good thing for our trade deficit. Many foreign corporations are working to develop Hybrid Hydrogen vehicles with a range of up to 400 miles.

The fight to slow down climate change should be something that stimulates creativity to solve problems. I just think creativity and problem solving is being stimmead because of greed. Living in Florida you can see the effects of climate change everwhere. The rising seas are encroaching our shorlines and our Everglades. I think in my Grandchildrens lifetime the Everglades will be gone. Florida is in the top ten when it comes to wildfires. Florida does have one abundant energy source and that is its sunshine. We are the sunshine state. It says that right on my license plate. Knowing we have an overabundance of solar power what does our Governor want to expand? Why its Narural Gas and Oil. Go Figure.

On Saturday, I was looking at Facebook and a person I was friends with, in fact, someone I went to High School with, posted something I knew was wrong. The post claimed that four lawmakers in Colorado decided jail time shouldn’t be mandatory for people who committed sexual assault of children. She claimed they were pedophile protectors. I opened up Perplexity and asked about the situation, and this is the reply I got back: You’re referring to a recent controversy in Colorado over a proposed bill that would change sentencing rules for certain sex crimes. Here are the verified facts to clarify what’s actually happening: • In early 2026, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a vote on a sentencing reform bill that aimed to give judges more discretion in certain felony cases. • Some lawmakers voted against an amendment that would have made mandatory prison sentences apply to all sex crimes, including child sexual assault, preferring instead to let judges determine sentences...
Dove or hawk? Donald Trump ran for President promising to end “endless wars”, avoid new ones, and put American families first. He cast himself as an outsider who would bring peace – the only candidate who wouldn’t drag America into another conflict. The message worked because let's face it, after so many years in Iraq and Afghanistan, America was tired of war. As a country, we were all tired of War. The country wanted stability, not another generation of men and women sent into danger. But once in office, he governed very differently. He governed like a Hawk, quick to threaten, quick to escalate, and willing to use both bombs and tariffs as weapons. What was missing wasn’t just consistency. It was an honor: the sense of responsibility and restraint that should come with the power to risk other people's sons and daughters. This isn’t about ideology. It's about whether someone who promised peace, but repeatedly chooses confrontation, can still claim to be a “dove”. A core...
It is Easter again. I walked away from the church years ago, in fact, a long time ago. Why? I just couldn't understand what the Bible said, and what society was becoming, and how they interacted with each other. I saw the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer, and I could no longer reconcile how this fit the teachings of the Gospel. The moment that reminded me why I walked away wasn’t a sermon or a scandal. It was watching a politician, a man who openly admits he doesn’t read the Bible much, argue with the Pope about Jesus as if he were the expert in the room. One man has spent his entire life studying Scripture. The other can’t even quote Scripture. Yet millions of Christians lined up behind the politician anyway. In fact, they have even compared him to Jesus. That was the moment I realized I hadn’t walked away from Jesus. I was walking away from what had been done to him, not by his crucifixion 2000 years ago, but by how we crucify him almost daily today. Whe...
