  Today, everything is about Trump and Epstein. It is essentially a fact that they were inseparable for over 15 years. Trump has tried to downplay it, but more evidence is being found every day showing just how close they were. Epstein was jailed for trafficking underage girls for sex with wealthy clients. When I was a child, I had a friend with whom I did everything with, and I knew pretty much everything he was doing. My point is that, given his documented, long-term friendship, Trump had to have been aware of what Epstein was up to. Trump either knew of the problem of those children and did not do anything, or he was a participant.   People are acting like this is new News when, in fact, there is nothing new about any of it. People may try to play ignorant, but Epstein’s and Trump's relationship dates back to the 1980s. Could opportunists have made some of the complaints?   I was having dinner with some friends when the conversation turned to something that bothered me. One of my dinner companions, whom I know is a Trump supporter, showed us an email that they received from their daughter, who in turn has a daughter with disabilities. It was a pretty nasty email blaming her mother, the Trump supporter, for all the cuts that Trump's Beautiful Big Bill will cause. The mother, of course, was insulted, and so would I have been if I had gotten an email like that, but the mother's reaction was that you don’t talk politics. I was taken aback by both the email and the mother's reaction. The daughter should never have sent the email, but the mother's reaction that you don’t talk about politics is also wrong. The fact people feel they don’t have to be accountable for the damage a candidate they voted for does seem to be like the voter just burying their head in the sand and not looking at what is happening right in front of them.   We are a country that has lost its faith. When I was young, we were a nation of great faith, and that faith is what made us great. It was our unwavering faith that helped put a man on the moon. It was our unwavering faith that conquered polio. It was our unwavering faith that men could still dream. It was our unwavering faith in our fellow man that made us feel there was nothing we couldn’t overcome if we worked hard enough together. We have lost our faith in science. When I was a teenager, we put a man on the moon. When I was six, I remember standing in line as we conquered polio. We conquered the Chicken Pox, Measles, and the Mumps. Medical scientific research is now under attack. Today, we turn our backs on the medical research that can save people's lives. Today, we are cutting much-needed research that in the future could save millions of lives.   Never once have I ever read in the Bible where Jesus said, “God bless the Roman Empire”. Never once have I read in the Bible of Jesus standing to pay homage to the symbols of the Roman Empire. Never once have I read Jesus combining his teachings with the Rule of the Roman Empire. I began thinking of that when I was watching the 4 th of July celebration on PBS, and there was a guy waving an American flag, and wearing a red hat that said, “Make America Pray Again”. That struck me as so anti-Jesus because that was what Jesus was not about. That is the last thing that the man that we call Christ would have been doing, in my opinion. Patriotic to a Government, whether it was Roman, Israel, or Jerusalem, was not what he was about. We have patriotic songs like the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Onward Christian Soldiers,” and I have asked myself many times, would Jesus have marched off to war leading an Army?
