I am so tired of being lied to. Aren't you? What are some of the biggest lies? Let's start out by the Republicans saying that Climate Change is a hoax. We can then go to the one they say a Green economy is too expensive. We can then go to the lie that Democrats won't secure the border. How about that oldie but goody the Democrats are weak on crime. I just love it when they say Democrats are weak on Foreign Policy. I am so tired of being lied to when I can see and read the truth.  Helene formed in the Caribbean as a tropical storm. When it moved into the Gulf of Mexico it formed into a Category 1 Hurricane with the forecast saying that it would strengthen into a Category 3 or stronger storm. Before it made landfall it was a Category 4 Hurricane. A reporter made a statement to Trump "I've spoken with some economists about your Tariff proposals and they say they don't see how it won't make items cost more". Trump's reply to the reporter was "I don't need Congress, but they'll approve it. I'll have the right to impose them myself if they don't". I see two problems with that statement by Trump. First, he doesn't address the statement the reporter is asking. Nothing in the statement was about Congressional  approval. It was about the cost that would be passed on to the American people. The second thing that bothered me is the fact that he dismisses Congress as someone that has no say at all about the economy and how it will affect the people.  I am not anti-tariff. In some cases they are very necessary to protect American jobs.  In some socialistic systems and communistic systems some of the industries are supported by the government to ensure employment. They say that we can't afford more green initiatives. Maybe the right question is can we afford not to. Since 1980 there have been 396 weather climate disasters where overall damage/cost reached at least 1 billion dollars. The total cost of these 396 events exceeds 2.780 trillion dollars. Just look at all the disasters that can be attributed to climate change, Drought, Floods, Tropical Storms. Freezes, Wildfires, Severe Storms, and Winter Storms. Climate Change has affected all of these. All of these problems have been around since the beginning of time but because of man's influence on the environment it has gotten more extreme. 2023 was a record year for billion dollar events with 23, surpassing 2020 which had 22 billion dollar weather events. Between 1980 to 2023 we have averaged 8.5 billion dollars CPI adjusted events. The last 5 years between 2019 to 2023 we have averaged 20.4 CPI adjusted events. Trump brings chaos. I keep posting on X formally called Twitter that "Racism, Bigotry, and Threats of Violence are what Donald Trump brings to the Table". You combine those three things together and what you have is the chaos that we now have in America. There has been another thwarted assassination attempt on the life of Donald Trump. Are you surprised? I am not. It appears a White 58 year old male was seen at the fence line of the golf course Trump was golfing on pointing an assault style weapon toward the course. The Secret Service opened fire on the suspect. it was not known yet at the time of the article that I was reading if shots were fired at the Secret Service. No shots were fired at Trump. The man has a history of having run-ins with the law. He had several postings on social media as being a supporter of Ukraine and Hamas. My last two postings have been whether Trump has the character to be President. An anonymous person replied to my last posting hoping that I would look into whether Kamala Harris had the character to be President. Trump's entire life has been an open book or maybe better put a movie made for television. I swear he has lived his life that all news was good news. Scandals didn’t seem to bother him because they made him more famous. In fact it was the scandals and his pompous lifestyle that made him famous in my opinion. He was exactly what he wanted to be, a rich celebrity with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. The first question I asked was if Kamala Harris ever been charged with a felony. That came up with a big zero. She has been a crime fighter and not a law breaker. This is my continued search on whether Trump has the Character to be President. A person I know stated “His character matters bc it is in the character I believe he has the leadership, knowledge, wisdom, experience, compassion, integrity that will lead us on the path towards a more safe, secure, healthy, prosperous, free world than the direction we are headed.” My last blog looked at his character as integrity from a legal standpoint before he even was elected President. From a legal standpoint there is no way I would have thought he had the integrity to be President. Today the country is more divided than it has ever been  before in my lifetime. Growing up I witnessed all the  Civil Rights protests and marches. I got to witness  the protests against the War in Vietnam. The whole  world was watching during the protests at the 1968  Democratic Convention. We are much more divided  today than we even were back then. Why is America so divided? One name, Donald Trump. Our division  is so bad it has divided many families that were close  knit families before Trump. Golf and Parks. That sounds like a natural. How about Golf and Nature Preserve? Now that doesn’t sound too natural does it. I live in Florida but I lived most of my life in Wisconsin. Both States have State Parks that are cherished by residents and visitors alike. In Florida, our Governor had a plan to put golf courses, disc golf courses, and pickle ball courts in a number of the State Parks. He also wanted to put in huge 350 room lodges in some of the parks. Of course there was an uproar from all over the state and from both sides of the aisle. Of course DeSantis is now doing a little dance saying that it was the “leftists” that leaked the plan, which is what every Republican’s go-to excuse is “blame the Democrats”. He stated that he knew nothing about it calling it some half-baked plan that shouldn’t have been released. We tend to forget that there is more than one important election happening. It is more than just Harris against Trump. We have many elections, Local, State, and Federal that will affect all of us. One of the biggest elections where I am living  is the Senate race of incumbent Republican Rick Scott and Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. There are many huge issues in Florida that I just don’t trust Republicans like Rick Scott to handle. We have a huge insurance issue. We have huge environmental issues. Florida has some of the highest inflation in the country.  We also have issues with healthcare.  Healthcare should be a right. At least that is my opinion. I have seen there are some that believe healthcare should be based on Free Market principles. Think about that, what they mean is corporations getting rich off of other people's suffering.   One of the problems I don’t understand is our justice system and how it is perceived by the public. One thing that I see is not all felons are treated the same. I have a friend who is a felon who spent time in jail many years ago. He paid his so called debt to society a long time ago but it seems like he is treated like his debt will never be totally paid because he still has to jump through hoops when it comes to just living his life. There are some portions of society who will think once you are a criminal you will always be a criminal. Then there is Donald Trump. I have seen people threaten to sue even if we call him a felon. Trump and his followers seem to wear his conviction as a badge of courage.
