I Could Be Wrong.

  Today it seems really hard to know what the truth is or maybe, a better way to put it is, what is the public’s perception of the truth? I keep hearing the things Trump and the Republicans are better at and I keep wondering where people get their information. I keep hearing things like how Republicans are better with the Economy, Crime, and Security. I have been on this earth for over 70 years and I have seen a total of 13 different Presidents, I have seen the ups and downs and I can say that I don’t really think there are any historical facts that support Republicans are better at those three situations. In my lifetime there has been 11 different recessions. Of the 11 only one occurred during a Democratic administration and that was during the Carter Administration, all the rest occurred during Republican’s administrations.   It is a new game but it is still being played just like the old one. Biden has chosen not to run for a 2 nd term and it looks like Kamala Harris will get the Democratic nomination. This drastically changes what the election will look like. Instead of two old white guys facing one another we will have a woman that is 19 years younger than the Republican nominee Donald Trump. Donald Trump went from saying Biden was too old and senile even though he was only three years younger than Biden to the old guy that appears to be too old and senile. Since Biden’s debate performance he had been under a considerable amount of pressure to drop out of the race. I have admitted in a past post when Biden came on stage he looked frail and in the beginning of the debate Trump’s tactics really confused Biden.   I was looking at an article in the Daytona Beach Journal which listed the highest weekly grocery bills in America and listed Miami #1 at $326 dollars weekly average. Living in Florida there is considerable sticker shock at the grocery store. I live in a State that produces a third most fruits and vegetables in this country and yet we tend to spend more on these items at the grocery store. Florida is ninth when it comes to beef production. I would think that would lead to lower prices not higher. Florida produces 25 percent of all watermelons grown domestically yet I can buy watermelon cheaper in Wisconsin when I visit than where I live in Florida. When I researched the rise in inflation in Florida the most popular reason seems to be the price of housing. House prices and rent has skyrocketed in Florida.   Why is living so damn expensive in Florida?   This blog was going to be about inflation but because of current events that topic will now be in the future. In the wake of the shooting we are getting a lot of talk about the rhetoric that is making America more divided. Because I write, and put my thoughts out there I can see some of the rhetoric that is ripping America apart.   Project 2025 is getting a lot of press right now. The problem that I have is it was written over a year ago and it is now just opening people’s eyes. I have heard bits and pieces but never to the extent that I am hearing about it now. Why? I think that is because social media has started to spend a lot of time and energy on it which in turn is making the mainstream media finally giving it the attention that it should have had all along.   Why is the media so obsessed with Joe Biden’s age and not with Donald Trump’s lies?   Why does our media no longer do investigations in search of the truth, but instead are helping spread the lies that are weakening our country? Could it be many of our News Media outlets are owned by billionaires? I think if you do your research you will see that most of our News Media is owned by huge conglomerates that in turn, are controlled by billionaire investors. I find it a very scary thought that the place where the country gets its information is controlled by so few powerful men whose main purpose is not of their quest for the truth.   In 1776 we declared our independence against a Monarch that was above the law. I wonder what John Adams would think about what the Supreme Court just ruled. I believe, what the Supreme Court just ruled is contrary to what the intention of the men that wrote and approved our Declaration of Independence.   This Fourth of July it would be a good idea if everyone would start out by reading the Declaration of Independence. The words that always have always stuck with me are “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.   It has been a few days since the debate and I have waited a few days to give my assessment of what I witnessed and what I have read. My first reaction to the opening minutes to the Debate was pure shock. I didn’t fear for the Democratic Party or the Republican Party, I feared for our Nation. What I was witnessing made me fear we looked weak in the eyes of the world. I have to admit that Biden looked old and Trump sounded like the liar that he always is. As the debate continued, I thought Biden did get stronger but Trump did not get more honest. If anything he got more dishonest because he knew he could get away with it. I don’t think that Biden was prepared for Trump’s dishonest statements and the fact that the moderators seemed not very interested in the truth, or if even if the question they asked was actually being answered.
